I assume you are talking about the condenser fan (outdoor), if so the squeaking indicates bad bearings. These motors usually have oil ports which you can re-lube, however the hermetic styling by which most AC parts are built makes the recommendation to change the motor/capacitor the only long term solution.

Motor hums but won't kick in

Hi simpsonruth1..
In the back of the compressor motor you will see a fan, remove the plastic cover to get to it..
Once you have the plastic cover removed and the fan exposed, plug the compressor in and spin the fan with your fingers...be quick as the fan could cut your fingers if you do not get them out of the way..
If the compressor starts working, then the start capacitor is bad on the compressor...if it does not run then you have motor troubles, either replace the motor or get it rewound.

Coleman rooftop a/c hums in all modes, does not start

Replace the start capacitor for the fan and compressor. Check all the wires to the capacitor.

How long has it been there, without experiencing any problems? This just start recently? Have you cleaned intake air filters at ceiling? Fan keeps running?

Compressor on my RV coleman ac unit bogging down

Take a look at your start capacitor. This the capacitor that kicks the compressor over when it tries to start. If the capacitor is bad, it cannot kick the compressor back over after the first cycle because the head pressure has not evened out yet. It is located in the upper unit on the side panel in a small box. Be careful, highly charged capacitors can zap you if you are not careful. Disconnect power and touch across the terminals with a meter or a screwdriver to discharge the capacitor.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Air conditioner fan will not come on and unit will run for 1 minute and stop

You hear the compressor kick in (Hum) but no fan comes on? Will the fan come on when just in fan mode, not cool, or do you have that set-up?

I have a coleman/evcon heat pump. When the thermostat kicks on the contacts kick in and hum but the compressor nor the fan run. Is this probably my capacitor has gone bad?

I would check the hig voltage power supply to the unit. Check the main breaker and make sure it is on. Check the disconnect and make sure there is power at that point to the condensing unit. The contactor will kick in from the low voltage in the control circuit.
