Check the Sony website; I think you will find a source for your missing software.

My Lenovo g550 model slimtype dvd ads8a4s is playing CD's only not DVD's, it does not recognize them. What can I do?

Please double check your drive. GOTO My computer and there you will see disk partitions and optical drive type.. I mean your DVD drive does it says DVD or CDROM? Now if thats DVD then you need to check software you are using.. Its better if you can download VLC
Player thats the best software I have tried.. and no region issue.

How do I reset my Toshiba Satellite 1800-S207 laptop to original factory settings

Satellite 1800-S207
Windows 7 and earlier Toshiba laptops come with the factory software recovery image stored in a special (hidden) area on the hard disk. From this special hidden image, you can restore your computer to its factory-fresh software condition.
How To: Perform system recovery - Windows 7
The following article will show you how to perform a system recovery. To Recover or perform a system recovery means to take the laptop back to factory settings (default settings). System restore means to go back to an earlier point in time on the computer.

There are two methods to perform a system recovery:
  • Using Partitioned Recovery Method (Free Recovery)
  • Using Recovery CDs / DVDs / Media

Dear sirs my cd /dvd driver cant open , read and write cd but it can open , read and write dvd. what is its problem? what is your solution recommendations. is it a hardware or software problem? thanx...

Interestingly, when the drive is getting old, it can read/read CDs but not DVDs. Your case is exceptional. It more looks like a software problem as well as the type of CDs you are using. Most drives prefer using CDs with a label "CD-R" but not "CD+R". Try checking on the type you are using.

Try Resetting the autorun software for the CDs as well by:
1) Right click on CD drive in my computer
2) Click on properties
3) Choose the Autorun tab
4) Choose the "prompt me each time to choose an action" option.

Inform me if it works

Error # 0x0000c1F5 It wont start windows, or even recover with recovery disk. Just blue screen with this message says possibly hardware or software problem.

ok, step one:
get a bootable CD (acts like a running backup boot), and put it in. your computer should boot up ok (NOTE* if it gives you the option to start in safe mode, don't. that will prevent the next step. start windows normally).
step two:
once it is up and running, eject the boot CD and get your recovery CDs/DVDs. insert them and follow the instructions. with everything recovered, it should work fine.
step three (optional)
attempt to create a new set of recovery CDs/DVDs.

I have bought by mail order an IBM Think Pad reconditioned. It does have a users manual and I cannot work out how to use the DVD drive. In fact no drive seems to be loaded. What do I do under these...

Did you get a complete set of IBM "System Recovery" CDs/DVDs?
If so, then reinstall Microsoft Windows, which will install all the IBM-provided software to support the DVD drive.

If you did not get those CDs/DVDs, you will need to contact IBM/Lenovo, and for about $60 (shipping included), obtain a replacement set.

I cant find my drivers

Averatec's website doesn't offer driver downloads. They want to sell you recovery CDs or DVDs. But here is a link to a site that does have the drivers for download:

If you find this solution gives you what needed, please take a moment to rate it. Thanks for asking here!
