Question about PC Desktops
1. Press the power button on the monitor to make sure the monitor is ON make sure it's plugged into the computer correctly
2. Turn off the computer for 10 seconds , and reboot the machine
when you have turned the computer back on , press F2 while booting , this will take you to the BIOS screen , the bios screen should be showing at this point , which means nothing is actually broken.
when you first turn a monitor they may be a little cold from not getting signal , and may not be bright enough for you to see anything even though you've turned the computer on, monitors have to warm up a bit.
4. If you have no video after performing step 2. you may need to check the VGA cable to see that it's plugged into the correct monitor port ( onboard video ) in most cases
If you have no video at this point , you can try another monitor , if you still get no video from the computer even though you know your monitor is good. you may have a bad video chip
If it's the onboard video chip , thats fortuneate , because you can shut it down and use another video card.
Those are the simplified instructions.
