Filter should be checked regularly and is a pain to do on hotpoint. however, blocked filter would not cause leak.
remove small panel at bottom back.
you will see a large diameter hose running from tub to pump.
undo this hose at the tub end and you will find filter inside hose.
carefull, water will come out

Hi my hotpoint washing machine wont stop spinning for some reason any ideas what is wrong

Very likely that the filter is blocked. Because the machine senses there is still water present it carries on spinning but the blocked filter is preventing the machine emptying. Turn off the power at the plug. The filter is usually mounted at the front near to the floor. Unscrew counter clockwise and be prepared for some water to leak out. Clean the filter under a tap, it will probably looked blocked and then re fit. Select a short programme cycle and see if the fault is cured.

WMA54 won't empty water? We've emptied filter but

Could be the pump, but they do not often fail.
I would check the main hose or the pump itself for a blockage.
Try blowing down the hose to see if it is clear.

Hotpoint washing machine WF430- Where would my filter be located as it needs to be emptied?

Its located at the rear of the machine, adjacent the drain pump, held with jubilee clips. You only have undo the main one. Filter is like a small, holed basket with a plastic ball. Empty anything in there and make sure you place the plastic ball back, tighten jubilee clip.

Where is the filter on Hotpoint first edition washing machine ?

Hi.
Some of these models, I believe, had a filter behind the front plynth. If nothing there then you will have to get to the back of the appliance.
Disconnect the power supply and remove the bottom back plate.
You will see a black hose that connects to the bottom of the drum and the other end connected to a drain pump.
With a few towels handy (make sure washing machine is empty!) unscrew the large clip holding the hose to the outer drum. Indide this hose you will find a filter. Remove, clean and refit.
Make sure hose is pushed firmly back on the outer drum and the clip fully tightened.

test with a small amount of water in the drum to make sure there are no leaks.

Hope this helps

Leak from lower door section and from powder door thing.

This could be a partially or completely seized/failed pump.
Before a machine goes in to a spin cycle, it runs the pump to empty all the water out. It used to be quite common that the machine does not check all the water has gone before spinning, it just runs the pump for a set time which if the pump is okay, is long enough to empty it.
If a spin is then started with quite a lot of water left in the drum, it gets thrown everywhere including back out of the powder/conditioner draw. Also the sheer strain of spinning a large amount of water can force water through an otherwise okay door seal.
Unless you are comfortable working on the machine yourself, call an engineer.

Cant find my filter o a hotpoint first edition

i cant find the filter on my aquarius either, but i just read somewhere that this egg smell is probably caused by u mostly running the machine on cool washes i.e 40' ? so its suggests u run the machine on a 95' empty wash using ure normal detergent 2-3 times a year as the smell is a build up of bacteria because your washes arent hot enuff to kill it. If ure egg smell is bad, i'd do the empty hot wash thing a couple of times to make sure ! hope this makes sense?! :)

Water leaks from the soap dispensing tray on Hotpoint WMA 56 model

In the sump hose there is a filter, remove the hose and clean out filter insert, water is being forced up dispenser hose because it cannot empty fast enough.
