I get codebase error when itry to open my deluxe invoices that i just installed

    I am getting the same message - I used the install wizard to set up the company so I could then go an customize and when I try to get into the program now I get a message that says "codebase error" and the program will not run?

    I am having the same problem as well. I actually uninstalled and reinstalled the program to see if that would help and still receive the same "codebase error" message after I run the setup wizard and try to start the program

    Unfortunately, didn't work for me with the XP Prof 64-bit system. I may have to setup MS Virtual PC to use this program, or, get another competitor's program to use. -Tis' a shame-

I called technical support at Avanquest (software manufacturer) and spoke to a tech there. Below is what they had me do and it solved my problem, maybe it will work for you. Please note that I am running Windows Vista, so if you are running another Windows version I don't know if this will apply.

Right click on the desktop icon for My Invoices which should have automatically been placed there when you first installed the program.

In the window that opens, left click on the "Properties" tab. A new window will open. Left click on the "Compatability" tab.

In the section "Compatability Mode" check the box next to "Run this program in compatability mode for:"

Open the drop down window and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" and then left click "Apply" and "OK" at the bottom of the window.

Now go in and run the Set Up Wizard again and you should be able to launch the program.

Hope this helps - I know I was really frustrated when I couldn't get this program to work after trying everything else I could think of!

You need to contact the software developer. It appears it has a glitch. I'd recommend quickbooks for your next invoicing software

Data saving error


Per Avanquest: We have found out that this randomly happens due to an interruption in saving the data in MyInvoices and Estimates Deluxe version 10. We recommend that you do the following steps:Go to the Task Manager.On the Applications tab, click on MyInvoices and Estimates.Click on End Task.Relaunch MyInvoices and Estimates.Create a new invoice/estimate and save it.
If that fails to resolve the issue, you should also try the following:

Close MyInvoices and Estimates.Restart your computer.Relaunch MyInvoices and Estimates.Create a new invoice/estimate and save it.

Note: The task you need to end is MIED.exe

Reports.dll was not found


Re-install may help. It's saying the driver for that part is missing. Drivers control how the software or hardware operates. Best place is to contact Avanquest.com and ask for help.

I have an error message on My Invoices & Estimates when trying to save an invoice data saving error: Save Entity exception. It wont let me save it or back out of it... What do i need to do to correct...

This worked for me without losing any data other than the invoice I was creating. Always make backups so if your data file is corrupted, you can easily restore it. Hope this helps.

I just installed the program and keep getting error report that the program will not open.


have you restarted your computer, if yes you may need ti reinstall it but you also need a product key to activate and register it as well

I am working on doing a fresh reinstall on a computer for someone, but they need me to save thier "My Invoices & Estimates Deluxe" information & reload it on the computer once I restore...


You have to backup all the require data to an external storage media first. If your are not familar with the software data backup. Ask your principal help or the person who operate on the system, to backup their vital data for to the external storage media, because you don't know which files are important.

Once you have install the OS, On installing "My Invoices & Estimates Deluxe" make sure the name the company file the exact same as the back up file name. If not you will not be able to load the backup files ie. you get errors opening the backup files.

Data saving error


I came to the point where I had done everything, restarted, closed the program in the task manager nothing would work. Every time I would hit any key even the X to close the program I would get the error. data saving error enitity exception. So finally I shut down the computer, disconnected the battery, waited about ten minutes started back up and so far it has worked without problems. Ever since My Deluxe Invoices made their last up grade I personally have had lots of issues with the update. Wish I could go back to one of the very first versions but with the ability to email statements. Thats the only upgrade I have found useful.

"My Invoices & Estmates Deluxe" - Repair corrupt '.inv' invoice file


When the program prompts, then creates a backup file for a database, it has a .bak suffix (not amazing). However it also creates a folder in the 'Safe' folder under c:\program files\estimates... All I had to do was locate the most recent version of the db files in the Safe, copy the folder to the c:\documents and settings\...\Invoices directory, and the most recent uncorrupted database was readily available for File Open. Voila.
