Unable to connect wireless

I recently moved and changed services, I now have AT&T with the modem & router all in one. I had no problem with my connection before when I had a separate modem and router. The 2wire has been installed and working properly; all lights are green, my HP lap top wireless connection is also working and detects the wireless connection and connects to it however when I disconnect the ethernet cable & try to go online wireless the page will not open. I called AT&T they said there was something wrong with my computer, I doubt it like I had mentioned before it was working fine before I moved. Can anyone please help? I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks for your time!

I just switched to At&t also. I have the 2wire modem/router all in one. everything works fine except my wireless laptop, which works fine at the bookstore and nearby restarunt. At&t could not figure out why it doesnt work at home and said theres nothing else they could do, I am very upset and don't know what to do. Since it works fine everywhere else I think at&t is the problem.

Have you tried changing the channel of the router? By default router s are set to channel 6, change it to 11 or one then try to reconnect to the wireless network

The wireless network is being picked up by the laptops in the house, but there is no internet connection between the modem and the router. MY router is a Belkin G Wireless

if you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

We had to replace our modem & our wireless router isn't working

You have got a new modem. You will need to change the settings of the router according to the new modem.
First make sure that your computer is able to go online when connected directly to the modem. If that works then connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and set up the router.

Can I use AT&T 2WIRE 2701HG-B DSL to ant ISP?

look if u wish to go for verizon service,,they will provide u with a wireless modem as well,,but if u tell them that u hav a modem then they might configure this modem only,,both ATT and verizon are DSL service providers with PPPoE connections.the only thing u need is the username and passwrd from verizon which u have to setup on the first page of the 2wire setup page,,both the connections are dhcp based.so no other connection settings change required. But when u talk with verizon make sure u tell them of the 2wire modem

Moreover verizon has wireless broadband service which is actually a express card tat u have to put into your computer and u can go online anywhere u go within ur country{it works like a mobile phone}

best of luck,,keep me posted

Installing wireless g router on macs

Router setup
You do not have to use the cd.
Shutdown your Mac. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your Mac. The Mac should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider.

After you get the Internet to work via the Lan (wired to the Mac) you can disconnect the network cable and use the Aiport to go wireless.

Connecting a wireless router to Tiscalli broadband connection

  1. USB modem is connecting a PC USB port with a DSL phone line: CANNOT be connected to a ROUTER LAN (ethernet NOT USB port).
  2. Wireless ROUTER is NOT a modem and it CANNOT connect the Internet (or WAN) LAN port to any "phone line"
  3. Connect the Router Internet (WAN) port to Modem (you need a LAN MODEM = a modem with a LAN/ETHERNET port)
  4. Be sure your internet is running before strting ROUTER configuration with Router Company CD

Can i connect a 2wire 2701hg-b with roadrunner cable internet ? I had the 2wire dsl with at&t but recently disconnected the service

It is possible but it may not work as a router (2 wire 270). The 2wired router only has a phone port and ethernet/usb for computer connection. So if you will connect the roadrunner modem to the 2wired, you can connect it to the ethernet port of the 2wire, but the 2 wire will not function as a router any more. It will work just like a wireless bridge. This one setup that you can.
