Try to perform an autotuning function instead of tuning manually.in autosearch mode it saves the selected channels so even after switching off when you swtch on you do not need to retune again

Updating the Channel List Automatically You can update the channel list when the broadcaster adds new Services or if you move the TV to a new location.

1. Press the MENU button to display the menu. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Digital Menu", then press the ENTER button.

2. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "Channel", then press the ENTER button.

3. Press the ENTER button again, to select "Country".

4. Select the appropriate country by pressing the ▲ or ▼ button. Press the ENTER button to confirm your choice. Even though you have changed the country setting in this menu, the country setting for Analogue TV is not changed. (Refer to page 11 of the user guide)

5. Press the ▲ or ▼ button again, to select "Auto Store". Press the ENTER button. When it has finished, the number of scanned services will be displayed. The existing favourite channel list will not be deleted when the channel list is updated. To stop the scan before it has finished, press the ENTER button with "STOP" selected.

6. Press the EXIT button to exit. If the signal status is poor, the "No Service found! Check the aerial connection" message is displayed. Check the aerial connection and the try the procedure again

SOURCE: Retuning digital TV

You need to use the (what looks like a large sattellite) button to retune your tv.
Some Samsung tv's let you access the button but other models have a "D MENU" button on the remote. Press this button, then scroll down to the icon that looks like a large sattellite. Then scroll across and click on "Auto Store" this will then go through all the available channels

JVC LT22HD32J DIGITAL TV WONT HOLD CHANNELS AFTER RETUNE

It's October 2012 and I have a problem with my exact same model of JVC TV which has worked fine since i bought it in January. In fact it has worked the best out of the four that we have in the house working off the same aerial until 4 days ago. I tried retuneing and then the problem expanded to more channels. I tried to reset to factory options and then do a retune but lost all the channels. I have again reset and retuned and I'm back with channels that I can only tune into for between 4 and 15 seconds before the screen goes blank. None of the other televisions are affected. Digital UK website show no works to transmitters in our area and JVC are impossible to contact. Their site sends one around in circles in a most frustrating and unhelpful way. I will not be buying JVC again. Any help offered would be gratefully accepted!

Problems withthe digital switchover and retuning my freeview box!

There are a few problems turning up as a result of the update. Do a factory settings on the box if it has the option to do so. Be aware of the actual transmitter you are on and the channels/frequencies it uses so when tuning you know whether its finding channels at the bottom, middle or top of the band. Sometimes you may need to unplug the aerial upto or after a particular channel to stop the box tuning unwanted transmitters. If you are picking more than 1 transmitter up you will often get extra channels in wrong locations

CANNOT RETUNE MY MIKOMI TV FOR THE DIGITAL SWITCHOVER

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.

Digital switchover

I also have the Sony IDTV KD-28DX4OU Digital TV.After the digital switchover I lost BBC1 and BBC2 despite retuning three times.
I contacted Digital switchover people (useless) and they passed the buck to Sony.I contacted Sony and they said they cannot fix the problem and that I should get a digital set top box. So the £650 I spent on integrated Digital TV has been wasted. If like me your cheesed off with this then I suggest you complain here
