    Sorry, I meant when you plug in the iPhone. You said iTunes won't pick it up. Does your computer recognize it at all?

    Does the computer recognize anything when you plug in it via USB?

My recommendation is that you return it under warranty. There can be a number of things wrong with it and the iPhone is no joke to work on without damaging. Especially if it is not even coming on. If there is no physical damage and no evidence of moisture, I would just get another one. That would be your best bet.

Please rate as at least helpful.

I have an iPhone 4S 8 gigabytes model number

I would recommend against updating your 4S to iOS 8. If you really want to then I would reset the entire phone (after backup) and then try to update. You can reset the phone to factory by connecting the phone to itunes

Bought my iphone 5 and am unable to charge using both the plug and computer. however am able to charge using the iphone 4 plug. please help!

Before you can charge your iPhone on the computer, your computer needs to install the drivers for it. You might have to reinstall the drivers for it. A good way to check if the drivers are incorrectly installed is to see if iTunes detects it. Try updating your iTunes since the old version of iTunes won't work with ios6 and all iPhone 5 are shipped with ios6

Turn iphone off. Power on holding power and home at same time for 10 seconds, then release power button but hold home for another 30 seconds. Screen will stay blank but should be in DFU recovery mode. Plug into iTunes and recover.

I would to install new software to my Iphone

In order to to accomplish this, there are several things you need to make sure you have:

* An activated iPhone
* An iTunes Account
* A current version of iTunes installed on your computer.
Here is that download link: Download iTunes 9

There is also this important "how-to" article from Apple, which will help you get started in installing and running iPhone applications on your iPhone:
Here is the link: Overview - Syncing your iPhone

Here are the two final links I am providing, that I would recommend you review to assist you with installing new software to your iPhone.

Iphone want turn back on

hi...i already written something about that therefore i have just copy and paste it... --> If you have some problems with your iphone like it wont turn on or it wont react even though you tried things like hold both buttons simultaneous or some other stuff and it dont helps....then there is the last possibility before you have to go to an apple store....and hope that they fix or replace it! you have to bring your phone to the DFU modus...for it follow the next steps: start itunes and plug-in your iphone even if it is turn off or it just shows the apple logo.... further press down the power button for about 3 second, then press the home button WITHOUT release the power button and hold both simultaneous at least 15 second.... finally release the power button and continue hold the home button for about 30 seconds... now the iphone should be detected by itunes. it ought to recommend to restore it to the factory defaults! after that you iphone should works correct again... hope my instructions are useful and let me know if it works on ur iphones!
