Wireless WRT54G I have a wireless card in my lap top that recently is unable to get or hold a signal. Somtimes it will indicate that the signal is strong but will not be able to log on. If I try to check for availible networks I get a message that there are no wirerless networks in range. The laptop is within 20 feet of the router. This system was working two days ago. I also have another computer that is configured to the router and I am getting the same problem

Try upgrading the routers firmware. The instructions are available on the manufacturers website and I believe you can do it through the web interface built into the router. It sounds like the radio section of the router may have failed.

Considering there are problems on the two computers it shouldn't be the wireless system. It may be the router or what's feeding the router. Cabling is always suspect. Whatever is feeding the router may need to be reset by a power of and on cycle. So I would unplug the router and equipment feeding the router and turn off the computers and wait 30 seconds and start with the device feeding the router, the router and then the computer directly wired to the router. If there is a problem still call your internet service provider.

Do not know my password for wrt54g want to use Ibook

the default login for linksys is user name: (leave blank) ,password: admin; if that doesn't solve your problem unplug all the cords and hold the reset button on the back of the unit for 30 seconds then gradually reintroduce it to your network.

Linksys router vs. hp computer

First of all u should ensure that DHCP server is configured for your required number of computers. this problem seems that you have less clients configured in your DHCP server, existing in router configuration.

Lost connection internet on lap top. Linksys

Is your laptop wireless signal turned ON? Sometimes it will turn itself off for one reason or another. Also check in the Device Manager to ensure it is enabled and has the correct driver(s). Check with the manufacturer of the laptop to see if they have any solutions available for you to try.

Wireless router

Do you see a little monitor Icon in the lower left bottom. If so go ahead and right click on it and select wireless connections , If not open network connections, now you should see detect wireless networks, Click on that,( IF SO ) Now you should get a window that shows your wireless connections, Select the network you have by clicking on it, and then in the lower left of the window Opened you should see a connect button, select that, you should be able to go online now if not let me know, there are some other things we can try to get you up and running just write back here if it does not work and as soon as I get this I will get back to you. I am sure its nothing we can't solve. Ok thanks bear001
