If you have a cable box you could bypass it to make sure it's not the cable box. It could also be the input to the TV channel has been changes so as not to be on the right channel from the cble box. Is the TV on channel 3? Or video input? and did you change anything that would have caused this in terms of cabling? If not it seems to be a TV menu issue we would hope.

If you can get the tv to display the blue blackground(usually happens when there is no antenna or cable feed to tv) check to see if the whole screen is a solid blue, if it shows discolored areas around the screen then you might have to "demag" the screen. See if you can rent a demad coil from a tv shop and with tv on turn the coil in circular movements all over the front of screen till blue is solid.good luck!
Sharps are known for bad tuners and cold solder joints. If you tap on tuner and picture comes back there is cold joints in tuner, If not most likley bad tuner. if the audio is there with blue screen it is the tuner definitly.good luck
this problem is due to blue video circuit.
1 Please check supply to blue video ckt.
2 check crt base for loose.
3 check loose contact & parts related to blue cathode.
4 blue signal coming from processor to blue video.
5 processor it self.
6 at last if tv is very old than check crt also.(possibility is rear)
hope this will help.
Most probably your antinna is not reciving TV signals properly.Try to adjust it in a right direction at a proper height, also adjust frequency of various channel of Direct TV through menu button.
Sounds like you have a problem with the blue gun in your picture tube or its drive circuit.
You might remove the back cover and gently tap on the neck of the picture tube using a plastic
screwdriver handle while watching the screen in a mirrow. If the picture flashes back on or on and off then the picture tube is the problem.
If this is a projection tv you have three separate tubes : red, green & blue.
you'd need to tap the blut one.Gently!!!!
