Acer laptop and Windows XP

I am planning on buying this

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4125271&CatId=17

This laptop runs Vista Home
I have genuine XP Pro CD for installation
Can I just use the XP CD to change the operating system
or is there something else involved ?
Thanks,
Mani

You can try but don't get your hopes up. Some laptops now are designed for VISTA and VISTA ONLY.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello this is the only trusted page i could find:

http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/Creative-Labs/SOUND.html

Try finding the driver by the model number.

When you find the driver you have to enter a code for downloading the driver.

Here is maybe not drivers for windows 7 and vista. Only for xp.

You can try the creative support site:

http://support.creative.com/Products/product_list.aspx?catID=1&CatName=Sound+Blaster

By selecting the model.
But i don`t think you can find the driver because they do not support older products anymore.

The alternative is to buy a new souncard if you run a new windows system.

Good luck

If you have windows vista use this link: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles%5CDriver/Audio/Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.5413_VistaX86.zip?acerid=633638854618740888&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%205570Z&OS=V10&LC=en&SC=PA_6 If you have windows xp use this link: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles%5CDriver/Audio/Audio_Realtek_5.10.0.5273_XPx86.zip?acerid=633638854902172901&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%205570Z&OS=X01&LC=en&SC=PA_6 Regards.

Acer 5050 (5056) not working with Indigo I/O

Hi Uzo, click on this Acer link to open.
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5050.html

Under MS Windows XP, click the dropdown menu & choose,
Audio Driver Realtek Ver. 5.10.0.5273
A download window will open, click to Save. Creat a folder on you're desktop & name it sound driver. Save the download file into the folder.
If you prefer the MS Windows Vista, do the same as mentioned above.
The downloaded file will be compressed in a .zip format. Use WinZip to uncompress the files into the folder you created.
If you need the program WinZip you can download a free 45 day trial from this link.
http://www.download.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10003164.html

It is suggest that you check Add/remove programs & unstall any previous sound drivers before installing Acer's driver software. If you sound still does not function, please run windows update service. Code 10 can mean many different things, including you're system may contain a virus.
Explanation of error codes generated by Device Manager in Microsoft Windows XP Professional.

Good luck!
Hope the Acer driver software gets you're sound to work.

Hi Diviola, you have no choice but to buy a CD-ROM drive. They are not as expensive as you might think. You're windows CD can format the hard drive in you're computer before installing windows. Some people can use a USB memory stick but in order to copy the windows CD software to the memory stick you'll still need a CD-ROM drive. A 2GB or 1GB memory stick will cost as much or more than a CD-ROM drive. Please click on the link to see some prices for a standard CD-ROM drive.

& here.

The link above is a CD-ROM drive & can also make CD-RW's (RW stands for re-write).
You can replace you're CD-ROM drive you're self. Just do not disconnect the cables from you're old CD-ROM drive untill you have the new drive. Connect the cables to the new drive (one at a time) as you disconnect them from the old CD-ROM drive.
Double check that the cables are tightly connected before you power up the PC. Load you're windows CD into the new CD-ROM drive & when you start you're PC up windows will start to load.
When you receive the new CD-ROM drive & if you need help connecting & running anything. You can come back here & ask questions. I'll help you through this.

Luck!
Mike
