Possibly the power management unit needs to be reset - try this: disconnect all power and all batteries from the camcorder, then press AND HOLD the power button down for 30 seconds. Release the power button, then reconnect the camera directly to an AC adapter and see if it turns on.
Have you tried resetting the camera? Hold down the power button and the red button simultaneously until the camera shuts off (takes about 10 seconds). Then, just press the power button again and the camera should turn back on. I had the same problem; when I pressed the red button to stop recording, the camera froze, and the red light remained on. I tried resetting it like this, and it seemed to work.
there is a fuse blown it happens alot just make sure when you send it in that the shop is a certified jvc or a jvc only repair shop some places fix alot of different brands of cameras and sometimes you might not get it fixed right away because of the workload or not at all
remove battery for a while .put it again and try .if not works...remove battery agin then put it again by keeping power switch off. eject and remove cassette .take several eject operations. now try again.
