Question about Xerox WorkCentre XD130DF Laser Printer
I have replace the Toner & the drum with new ones, but when the red light came on I thought was the toner and I replaced with new one the red ligth still on but I could make copies now appear J2 I replace the drum but now don't let me make copies.
What is the problem?..
With that machine, what frequently happens is the flag in the drum unit falls down during shipping and does not swipe the drum replacement switch.
You can do one of 2 things, Exchange the drum cartridge or, on the front of the cartridge you have to remove the green cover, Remove the clip and pop off the gear cluster. Then look at the one gear in particular that has a flag like protrusion. Rotate it so that it stops up and to the right, so that when you place the drum back into the machine it can rotate down and hit the switch that tells the machine you replaced the drum.
That flag only runs a half turn, one time at install. And if it has fallen in shipping hte J2 will not clear.
That is what has happened. It is pretty common.
