Question about Edimax PS-1206U (PS1206U) Print Server

1 Answer

No Ports available

I followed the instructions, but when I call the "Network Ports Setup 3.0." the list with available ports is empty.
So what can I do?

I connected the print-server with canon ip 4000 and with the D-Link Router DI-524 by cable.

Thanks for your help!

The default IP in the D-Link router is 192.168.1.x
The default IP in the Edimax is 192.168.2.2

Your 3rd octet (the # after 168) has got to be the same for the two of them to communicate.
So, you can either reIP your router, or connect your PC to the print server and change it. The software for the print server should have a tool for finding the PS by MAC address, then you can go in and reset it to 192.168.1.x

You need to forward these ports on both your router, and computer aswell as firewall you got one of those.

  • Port 88 (UDP)
  • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
  • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
  • Port 80 (TCP)

You might aswell need to open 1863 (UDP and TCP) if you want to use video chat for the kinect.
Listed ports need to be forwarded when connecting to XBOX Live

Need hook up instruction

1.To hook up a router plug the internet cable into the port marked internet. If there is no port marked internet then plug it into whichever port is separated from the other bank of ports. If the ports are contiguous then plug it into the port marked 1.

2.Plug your other Ethernet cables into the remaining ports.

3. Follow the manufacturers instructions to install any necessary drivers. If you cant do that for some reason then you should go to http://compnetworking.about.com/od/workingwithipaddresses/f/getrouteripaddr.htm to figure out your routers IP address, then go to that address using your internet browser and follow whatever instructions/basic setup wizard it has.

Need to open ports 3724/6112

You need to login to the router, go to the applications and gaming tab and then enter the following information into the first two empty lines on the list of ports to forward:

WOW1 / 3724 / 3724 / Both / (your IP address) / Enable
WOW1 / 6112 / 6112 / Both / (your IP address) / Enable

Click on "Save Settings."

You'll need to make your IP address static on your PC for this to work. Since the WRT54GS doesn't allow DHCP address reservations, you'll have to do this manually in your network setup on the PC.

Reply back with your operating system version if you need help with this.
