My phone, 2 months old, has recently started displaying 100% charge constantly when not on charge and also not displaying the correct indicator that the phone is on the charger. This, of course, lasts for a day and then the phone dies as if the battery has completely discharged. Is this a battery issue or software issue?
...so guys, after one week of investigation I finally managed to fix this annoying issue. I made an update of the ROM - I had the German unbranded version 10a and I flashed it with the English (Turkey) version 10d (issued in May 08) and to my surprise, the battery indicator started to work properly. For more detail how to flash your device follow the link below (of course you must know what you do so read it carefully because you will do it on your own risk)
Another solution is to send the device to LG / distributor as a warranty repair, they will probably replace your battery. Few users posted that they have done it this way and it also helped.
Here you can find all necessary to flash your device with new ROM version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=405945
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It seems there is fault on your software and so might require a reinstallation . Remove the battery and then switch on the phone , if the phone seems to HANG up then the software can be the issue. It is ideal to get this confirmed before you reload .
Not understood the exact nature of your fault but I feel that your battery charger needs a check on voltage at the pin and also at the battery terminals on the phone. If there is voltage then it is possible that the battery is a suspect.
Otherwise choose a good quality OE product -
Mine has the same problem too. but its always 100% battery. its really awfull to see battery full message when plyggin into charger evn after the battery is completely empty. The solution that worked for me as well as for my friends is TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. good thing if ur device is less than 6 months old. otherwise u've to pay 4 it. Damn LG :-(
with rechargeable batteries you have to fully charge it up then completely run the battery dead for the first 3 or 4 times this is what extends the battery life. I have had an LG viewty for 16 months and only charge my phone twice a week. this is a golden rule for all rechargeable batteries
...no, no - If you have really LG KS20 there is known this battery issue, most probably caused by the LG battery driver contained in the ROM... As I described many times here: ...this can be solved, but is not so easy if you are not experienced with flashing new ROM - already described here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t1052152-lg_ks20_battery_level_issue
if u buy new battery for around 35$... its creepy thing that it again sucks within 6 month so follow these procedure that i really got good response
1)Buy the new battery from any other dealers (u can use Nokia (std) or LG, Micromax, Onida... etc) having same specifications as 1050mAh Lion-POLYMER 3.7v and having equivalent Size that fit into the case.
2)Now open ur dead battery, remove the sticker slowly, u wil get the polythene bag carrying the charge sheets
3)Please note that dont not disturb this polythene bag... (cutting, drilling or pinning), else it starts burning.
4)U will see a circuit above the polyhthene bag having two poles (+ve n -ve) just cut the poles of bag from the circuit and keep the bag aside
5)Now do the same procedure with new batt and remove the polythene bag.. and soilder with the dead battery circuit. (check the +ve n -ve by multimeter)
5)Re-assemble with insulation tape and recondition it perfectly.
now check poles bofore starting.
Note : i got good result from this and i m getting 18-19hrs standby and 11-15hrs usage. Do it on ur own risk...and i m not responsable for ny harm)
LG mobile phone KS20 review: this is probably the worst smart phone ever made. it does not sync with any PC operating system, it is unstable, it is getting too hot while chraging, the battery gave up after 18 months and above all: LG doesnt give ANY support for solving any of these problems.
