Setting the aspect of a dct6412 PVR

I recently changed TV's and the aspect is different on the new one. I can't see the guide or diagnostic menu from the DCT box to change it to the one for the new TV. I can only see the Diagnostic Menu on the front of the box itself and it is all in code. My question is: Is there a way to reset the box to an aspect setting that i can see on my new TV so I can fine tune it properly?

Hi Rod,

Thanks for Using FixYa. If its a 4:3 normal TV or a wide 16:9 TV then you can view high definition picture by using the ARC button on your remote control to change the wide mode(Auto,Letter Box, Pan & Scan). Also check its free user manual for more information.

SOURCE: I have an error code 01 on my sagem PVR set top

Unplug the box from the mains and leave fro 15 mins. Unplug the antenna (aerial), plug back into the mains and switch on. It will show 09 error; ignor. Press ók'on the remote. The box will reset and reboot into stby. Plug antenna back in and switch on. With a bit of luck you will be able to do an automatic channel scan (refer to your manual).
Er 01 refers to a failed upgrade, so you may have corrupted firmware, which is not good.

SOURCE: I have a DCT 6416

This happens because the receiver is no longer capable of detecting the presence of the channel and this is caused by the failure of the tuner. This is a hardware fault , the entire PVR must be sent to be repaired - the tuner will have to be replaced.
But i must say that this is the eight question related to a failed tuner that i got this evening in less than 2 hours. Has been a big storm or a big power outage) around you lately?

Remove the Aerial.
Switch on or if it's frozen switch off at the mains and on again.
Press Menu

Confirm again to start loading, enter the password again and it will start scanning for channels but won't find any.

You won't lose any saved programmes but you will have to re-schedule your recordings.

Have you made sure that the correct 'source' has been selected on your TV? What does the TV show? Does it show, for instance, the menu?
Connect it all up and turn on. Now repeatedly press the button on your tv remote that changes the signal input. This button will be marked as a square or circle with an arrow through it, or will me named source or input. With any luck you should see your digibox.

Motorola Dual Tuner PVR - DCT 6412-III --- HELP

Hi.
The information provided shows that tuner 2 isn't working at all on at least the selected channel. This could be a problem on just some channels with this tuner or possibly all channels. You can verify this by hitting the "SWAP" button on the remote to switch tuners while viewing a live program on a problem channel. If you choose the same channel for each tuner, I expect you will see program on one and "one moment please" or freezing or pixelation on the other. The confusion about recording comes about because of how the DCT6412 chooses which tuner to use for recording versus viewing. If you activate record on a channel you are watching, it will use that tuner. If you see it, it will record. For future or series recordings though it will automatically choose to use the alternate tuner so that it won't have to change your channel selection. Since there is no input signal detected on the other tuner, it will actually record but there will be nothing to see on play back. What causes this? It is probably that tuner 2 has failed. There is a slim chance that your cable signal coming in is either too strong or too weak but this is unlikely since the DCT6412 splits and then amplifies the cable input signal before distributing essentially equal signals to both tuners (the plug on coax adapter on the back feeds the cable signal to an AGC amplifier within the DCT6412 and then splits and distributes that output to both tuner inputs). You could check the OOB AGC level as described here http://www.cable-help.com/ but I think your problem is more likely that tuner 2 has gone bad. JM Belleville Ontario

DCT6412 DVR Box

When that happens its most likley you had a power outage and the box reset.  Well kinda reset but not all the way.  You can unplug the power and wait about 10sec and plug it back in and wait a few min to a few hours, and If that doesn't work get a new box.
