Icejams in the drop area.

My refrige is making ice. The problem is that when the ice drop s it gets jammed in the door area. It seems that the flap is not closing all the way. Frost is building up in the door drop area.

The ice dispenser will not let the ice out. It makes the ice and drops it into the door, but the little plastic black flap that is supposed to open to let the ice out does not open.

The first thing to do is unplug the machine. After that slide out the area where the water falls, I guess you would call that a drip pan, and place to the side. Now, the part that always makes me uncomfortable, you're going to have to pop the trim off the door. Its held on by little clips, and the method I found most succcessful without damging the trim or breaking the clips is to get a small flathead screwdriver, and just above the lower corner, either one, slide it in between the trim and the door and kind of pry it forward. Once you get started its down hill from there. After you get the trim off, you'll be able to remove the control area, which is either held in by screws or sometimes tabs, and access the flap. Note that alot of times the door flap is fine, its a plastic little ring that is broken on the mold of the door. In the past you had to buy the whole door, which ran about $700, but now there is a repair kit, which cost me whole sale no more than $50, so retail about $70 or so I would assume. There are other parts in the area that helo the machine function, such as the soleniod that connects to the flap to help open or shut it, retaining bracket, and so forth. Once you have the dispenser apart it shouldn't take long to isolate the problem.

Our GE Profile Arctica will not make ice cubes.

You have 2 problems .
1 . the water valve is not letting enough water in . Pt # WR57X10032 . This is located on the back of the refrig , where the wall water line connects to , on the refrig .
2 . The dispensor flap door , is not closing completely , to seal off the warm outside air , thereby , causing frost on the inside dispensor area , and , on the bottom of the ice dispensor bucket . The usual cause , is the door flap solenoid , pt # WR62X10055 . The plunger , which comes with the solenoid , usually rusts , causing the flap not to close completely .

I have a profile refrigerator PDS20SCPARSS, SN TF047061. If youopen the door alot ( 4 kids) te refrigerator temp goes all the way to 60deg and the freezer goes to -30. If you don't open the door at all the...

If this is struggling to maintain temperature like this, either the system is low on gas (motor running all the time) or the fan has stopped which you should be able to hear. Make sure that the fan is not just jammed.also check the return air vent in the fridge as if this gets stuck with a spillage ie O.J. etc, the fridge cannot get air from the freezer and the freezer runs continually (-30) but the thermostat never cuts out in the fridge. Last idea most likely.

Whirlpool side by side Ice maker has quite making ice

Open the freezer door and on the right side , make dure the slide is in the on position . If the red light flashes twice , then pauses , flashes twice , pauses , consistently , then close the flap door on the left side of the freezer . The light should go off . If these tests work , then the cut-off optics are good , and the icemaker needs replaced , due to the cubes not dumping . Also check the coils under the front of the refrig , to make sure they are clean of dust , lint , etc.

MY ICE MAKER FEELER ARM IS STUCK IN THE UP POSITION. CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN FIX THIS? MODEL LFX25950SB LG REFRIG

Water is getting into the area where the arm pivots and freezing. This prevents the arm from dropping down when it should. I use a hair dryer to melt the ice in the area of where the arms comes out of the base. As soon as the arm drops, the ice maker will make more ice. This LG in the door icemaker is junk.

Ice Maker frost and freeze where ice drops into refrigerator door

You need a service guy to look at it. It could be water leaking or a simple case that the flap isnt sealing and the ice melts and then freezes the flap open
