Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

HP officejet 6110 all-in-one. 4 years old - is suddenly giving a problem. The message "Error: Left cartridge incorrect" keeps appearing. The left cartridge is the correct one (HP 57) and is correctly loaded. The macine is making a slight ratly sound as it poweres up. Any suggestions?

I have cleaned 57 cartridge as suggested (in fact two of them), and cleaned the contacts on the carriage, then retried both cartridges, but error message is still coming up

  • Gallangad Sep 17, 2008

I finally tried a brand-new colour cartridge, and the message disappeared. At least one of the others I tried was almost new, so there must have been something wrong with the cartridge/s

The message left cartride incorrect means the cartridge is faulty just replace the cartridge with another 57 cartridge.as the brown dotted circuit which you r cleaning are actually thin wires if a single track of wire in the circuit is broken in between this message comes as the printer cannot detect the cartridge.the broken circuit cannot be repaired it should be replaced compulsary.
if the cartridge is new which you inserted in the printer replace it from the shopkeeper.as it is faulty.

for anything else let me know.

thanks.

HI,

Verify that the unit is switched on.
Remove the power cable from the back of the machine. Wait 30 seconds. Press and hold the POWER button on the front panel.
Reinsert the power cable in the backside of the unit.
Print a test page. If the problem persists, replace the cartridge.
What causes these symptoms?
These printers have a cartridge check feature. If it detects cartridge contact problems such as dirt, dust or oil on a contact, it will give warnings so the user can correct them by properly seating the cartridge and/or cleaning the contacts. When a problem is detected, a software 'flag" is set within the printer that should be reset when the user corrects the contact problem. Due to a firmware error, the 'flag' does not reset until the power is cycled to the printer and repeated warnings are delivered. Power cycling resets the 'flag' and eliminates the warnings.

I would suggest you to remove the left cartridge once and clean its golden metal contacts with soft cloth and reinstall it again.

Each cartridge having printing life, as long as cartridge health condition is good it won't gives any trouble. Subjected series printer having mono & colour cartridges,1. Remove both cartridge from the printer 2. Switch on & wait till message appears for insert the cartridges..3. Insert mono(Black) cartridge, close the door & wait till message appears on screen. If message appears same as cartridge error mean that mono cartridge is faulty replace it, if message appears like insert another cartridge, it's confirmed that colour cartridge faulty.. Replace it..

Hi,

Your printer is in Error mode.. Specially with black ink empty message. HP Printer is designed in such manner that it will not allow you do to anything if it gives cartridge error message on printer screen.

you will have to replace the cartridge and align the printer to get it working.

Error : Left cartridge incorrect

Did you just replace it? Sometimes you get a dud in a new one. Does the old one give you the error? Take it back to the store and have them test it or exchange it for a new one.

Changed cartridge in printer few weeks back - took several attempts to get cartridges to align afterwards. Now say to remove and check cartridge (appears to be problem with colour cartridge!). When put...

It might mean that your cartridge has become demagnetized. That happened to me and I had to replace the cartridge. The little brass covering at the front of the cartridge is very delicate and can become demagnetized if handled incorrectly. You can buy refurbished ones on line and they are not as expensive, but that is entirely up to you. Good luck.

HP officejet 6110 all in one

Probably one of two causes:

1)Cartidge is Faulty/Out of Date/Not original.

2)Printer is Faulty.

Most HP cartridges have a specific life, no matter if you use it or not. You should check the cartridge life - its printed on the cartridge itself. If its in date and broken you can get a free replacement from HP. Try a new cartridge first.

If you are still getting an error message after changing the cartridge and your printer is no longer in warranty, its normally cheaper to throw it away than get it fixed. If its in warranty, call HP. They normally replace very quickly.

"remove and check cartridge" error message

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument?docname=buu02180&cc=in&lc=en&dlc=en

I resolved the "remove and check cartridge" issue after reading the instructions at the above address. Most importantly, I replaced both cartridges and the problem was resolved.
The color cartridge appeared to be the issue. It had been in for months and used infrequently.
