Question about Canon PIXMA MP130 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Flashed 5200, I changed the ink cartridges now states 'wrong ink cartridges'

My daughter told me that the ink was gone, of course I changed the ink cartridges and then shut the lid before I read what was really on, I think it said "Error 5200". When I put the other ink cartridges in now all it does is say "Wrong cartridges". I love this printer and really want to have it back what can I do without spending a fortune????

    I have the same problem. My Canon Pixma MP 130 manual offers no suggestions on resolving this...their website is the same: no help at all.

    Canon should try the Sears and Roebuck approach: "We service what we sell".

The yellow and green light flashes and printer error 5200 message displays

Error NO. 5200 is caused by ink absorber almost full so you need to reset your printer.. To solve the problem follow the instruction step by step ;
1. Turn off the printer without pulling the power cords.
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Then Press Resume button 5 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. You will notice that the Alternate Blinking error is gone, this means that the printer is in Service Mode state. thanks

This is the 1st time I had to replace an ink cartridge since I bought this Canon MX310 last year, and since I never used the color, I just went out and bought a black cartridge. Now the window is showing...


Ink cartridge always has an expiry date like medicines as you had told that its an year old & you never used the cartridge so their could be a possibility that this might be gone expired. So please check the expiry mention cartridge.

An error of 5200 pops up when I try to print. The yellow light is flashing. I removed the printer head and cleaned it. Can't seem to find what is wrong.

Assuming you've a Canon printer, Knebon77 had the same problem, and resolved it thus:-

"As it turned out I got in touch with a Canon service technician who has figured out that the "service error 5200" can be a somewhat sneaky designation that might only mean one or both ink cartridges are defective So before one should tear the printer apart one might try changing the cartridges' which is what I have just finished doing and ergo my printer is working just fine again One should however remember to keep the receipts when buying cartridges because you can get them replaced if they are defective Ken N "

Returning an error 5200 on my canon MP830 printer

I have an MP830 on my desk I use all the time. Whenever I use generic cartridges I get the 5200 error and the A600 error. This seems to be caused because the generic cartridges ooze a little ink. The ink falls down into the excess ink pad (as it should) but it also provides a minute amount of resistance when the print head first starts to move which generates the errors. What I do once a week is take out all the print cartridges and clean off their bases. Then I take out the print cartridge holder and clean that. Then I move the print mechanism to the left side. I take a folder piece of paper towel that I put a little glass cleaner on and I run that over the excess print well on the right side of the print head travel or where the print head normally sits. Of course I do this with the printer off. So far it's worked every time. When I first bought the printer and I got the error message I called Canon and this is what they told me also. Since I've been troubleshooting electronics for 40 years I wasn't pleased with that response so I began some troubleshooting on my own. his is what I came up with. I hope this helps. Good luck

"No Black Ink Cartridge" after a new cartridge has been inserted

It sounds like the actual ink sensor has failed. You can check if it has a print head cleaning routine in the software on the computer. Most likely the actual ink sensor has died though, I've seen this many times. Call Brother to confirm, or maybe if it's still under any kind of warranty: 877-276-8437

Turns out the employee at staples told me the wrong number replacement cartridge,I returned them , got the correct #4,5 cartridge and it works' duh thanks anyway

I put a new black ink cartridge in the printer. When attempting to print, no black ink is being used, just color ink, even though the little level indicator on the printer window the appeared when one...

goto maintenance, on the panel of your printer..choose clean printhead..or wipe your black cartridge with a wet cloth..maybe your cartridge suffered clog that covered the nozzles ..
