Infocus LP240 projector will not power up

The Infocus LP240 will not power up. WE had a power surge and that may have killed something. I have two of them with the same condition. In desparation, I switched lamps on each other and tried to power up without success. Can someone please help with a diagnostics guide and possible repair manual to figure oiut which component has blown and how to change it? Much regards, Lalit. I moved and hadn't started up the projector for awhile -- when I went to power it on, there was no response.  What could be possible causes for no light, no fan, no anything?  something bumped?  I'm at a loss.  Mine is actually the LP240

if you don't even get an led, it's the power supply. it may just be the fuse on it. take the top off and see if the fuse is blown. but make sure to replace it with the exact size and type.

If you want you can check the voltage at the power conector on de main board. but the problem are the fans, replace the fans, and check the routing cable, its very important.

power supply is bad and needs to be replaced. unfortunately, there are no parts for this model. infocus no longer sells them, and they were made by another company that no longer makes power supplies. therefore, no schematics either. sorry.

Projector LP240 has no power

replace the power supply. the caps go bad on it after a while. you could get the part from and infocus service center and do it yourself or send it in to them and let them repair it. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

InFocus LP240 Projector won't turn on.

there is a fuse on the power supply next to the plug (on the inside), but this model of projector has power supply issues. the biggest being that infocus no longer has parts, schematics, or component cross references for the lp240. the circuit boards were made by another company that made had their own components and now no longer makes circuit boards (they make fans and bearings), and they have no schematics either. so, i'm sorry to say that the machine is doa. there are no replacement parts available and almost no way to fix the old ones.

Sound from an InFocus LP240 Projector

it's just a line level signal with a 1/8" stereo phono jack. there is an amp and speakers in the projector, but they're meant for presentations, so there's not much to them. but there is no audio out coming from the projector, so you'd need a separate amp and speakers coming from the ps2.

Infocus LP-820 no power

You should get some indication of power even without the globe. This can however be a problem relating to the globe not being inside the projector.
Most projectors use a switch inside so they know when a lamp is installed. Some have several of these and a fuse that is on the lamp unit itself.

Replace the lamp back into the projector and apply power again. If you get lights then you have that much solved at least.

If there are still no power lights at all, then you may have had a power surge that not only killed the globe, but has blown the internal fuse for the power supply as well (or even killed the power supply)
To get access to the power supply you will need to disassemble the whole unit almost. If your not comfortable doing this, then I would advise getting it checked over by your local tech. It could save you hundreds of dollars buying a new lamp when the projector may not be worth repairing.
