Question about Televison & Video
I have no idea what my daughter did to my television set? We have an Emerson strawberry Shortcake television set and a HarmonTec dvd player, well for some reason the dvd remote works somewhat on the television set! My daughter somehow messed up the settings from the dvd remote and i have no idea what the original settings are suppossed to be so i can change them back! For example page one of the settings say H-Phase and has a 15 beside it? I have a bunch more of setting names that i don't know what to do with? There is 11 pages of different settings i can not figure out which ones she changed....PLEASE HELP!!!Thanks Shanon
You can find the owner's manual for this set online at: http://www.zenithservice.com/gcsc/b2c/hpi/main?tc=owm.command.OwmCmd It says that the BOTTOM four connectors are: 1. S-Video IN 2. Video IN 3. Audio (Right) IN 4. Audio (Left) IN Above the Audio IN connectors are two audio OUT connectors, which you could hook to external speakers, your stereo, etc. But these are not needed for hooking up your DVD player. From your DVD player, you need to hook up either the S-Video or Video connection (Video is typically the Yellow wire), plus the Audio connections (Red and White). If your DVD player has an S-Video output, this will give you a better picture than the standard Video connection. S-Video cables have a different plug, with four or five wires in the connector, and are keyed so they only fit into the socket in one orientation. Be careful to line it up properly and not force it in the wrong way.

You should be able to simply shut the unit off, & turn it back on after a few minutes. This will reboot the player & it should perform normally. If this fails, look for a tiny reset switch somewhere on the unit. It will be marked, but may be a tiny hole with very small lettering, that requires a pencil point to activate.

If you forget your password you can reset it. Make sure the TV is off. Simultaneously press and hold VOL< on the TV?s front panel and CLEAR on the remote for approximately 5 seconds. Enter a new password next time you access the PARENTAL CONTROL menu. Front Panel Lock 1. From the PARENTAL CONTROL menu, press the up or down arrow to highlight Lock Fr. Panel. 2. Press the right or left arrow to turn on (box has check mark) or off (box doesn?t have check mark) front panel lock. Of course if you don't have a remote that can bring up the menu I don't know how this can be done.

Then the only way to reach your tv is through coaxial antenna port. So you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your red yellow and white cables (rca cables from a dvd, game console etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a coax cable. This worked for me.
