If the device is not installed, try checking the device driver on device manager. Right click on my computer ---> manage --> click on device manager -->  look for sound, video and game controllers --> expand the category and you should be seeing soundmax integrated digital audio below it. If it doesn't appear, go this website to download your driver for the audio --- > http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R94481&SystemID=DIM_CEL_3000&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2430&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=3&fileid=122481
Inform me if this quick fix doesn't work.

Sound not coming in win xp sp3 even after updating correct sound driver?

Do you still have the unknown device in device manager? If so, you need to install a different driver. If not, go into device manager, expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers. For each device under that heading, right-click the device, then click update driver software, choose "Search Automatically..." It will then go to the windows update site and see if there is a driver there that is listed as more recent, and it will install that driver, if such a driver is found. If that doesn't work, make sur ethat y ou manually find the correct sound driver installer, and then right-click whichever device obviously represents the sound hardware driver, and click Uninstall. Reboot afterward. Then reinstall the audio driver. If that doesn't work, you may have to reinstall windows.

Headset installed but doesn't work

We used the following steps recently with a customer and it fixed his problem:

In Windows, click Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices / Audio tab / Sound playback box / Default device: Plantronics C620 (instead of RealTek HD Audio Output)

He also had to restart WMP (Windows Media Player) and it worked great.

Good Luck from Headsets Direct!

No audio device found on computer

Hello....
No Sound, No Volume Control, Mixer not Found, No Sound device installed…etc etc, This is a generic issue with all Windows OS updates....many of the users are facing this issue....this issue began after an auto update from MS changed many IRQs of Win OS, mainly the Sound and Audio Control system of Windows.
1 - R U facing NO Audio / No Sound issue...?
2 - Is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - Is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

If ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....as ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....

NOTE..THIS…IS…VERY..IMPORTANT...
No file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…or giving any help on this.
Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service and help everyone affected by this stupidity from Microsoft.

Did you check that compatible driver for your audio device is installed Properly? Go to Device Manager and verify. if there is yellow marked device error with name of Audio/Sound you need to update this driver.
