Question about Frigidaire 16.5 Cu. Ft. Top-Mount Refrigerator - White
I bought a new Frigidaire FRT17B3JW on Sunday....put it in the garage.
It ran for almost a day and tripped the 15a breaker. There is a cordless phone and garage lights on that breaker....we may have been running the vacuum when it tripped.
I tried to run an extension cord, from an outlet with just the washer on it....no luck. So, I plugged it back into the original outlet and don't plan to run the vacuum. It started and ran for a day and stops cooling. I made an extension cord out of 12/2 wire and hd connectors. Its 20 feet long. I connected it in the outlet at the washer....compressor will not start. I put it back on the original outlet....compressor will not start.
In all cases, the light is on.
I'm out of ideas.

wihtout replacing the relay there really isnt any way to tell if its the compressor or the relay. the relay is veyr inexpensive in comparison to the compressor usually less than 70 bucks. and the best part is you can replace it yourself as opposed to paying a service company. this is the part number 218721113 and it prices at 38 dollars thru
once you replace the part if the compressor starts you should be ok. if it doesnt start then you will need to call a service company to replae the compressor or look at replaing the refrig. if the unit is less than 5 years old it may be under warranty for the compressor so check into that first. if I can be of further assistance dont hesitate to ask. thanks Peyton

Something has stopped your compressor. The part could be the start relay, start capacitor, overload or the defrost control board. where are the buzzing sounds coming from ? Sea Breeze
