This is a very common problem.

If it's not taking the disc at all, most likely you need a new DVD drive.

You can get a third party to replace it if you want, but I would actually recommend sending it to Nintendo.

Unlike Sony and MS, Nintendo has awesome repair services. They will do any repair under (1 year) warranty for free and if it's not under warranty then they will still do it for cheap. It cost me something like $96 (in Canada) after shipping.

They are also very quick, usually in a week you'll have your system back.

The best part is, whether your system is under warranty or you pay for the repair, you get a renewed 1 YEAR warranty with Nintendo, this is far better than Sony and MS who only do 90 days!

When I insert a disk into my wii console, it will accept the disk, make a clicking sound and then eject the disk. This happens with every wii game i've tried. Any suggestions?

my friend,Christina, had the same problem, but didn't handle it right. SHE threw it on the ground. Don't do that. Just take it into GameStop. Then you can either get it fixed, or you can trade it in for a new Wii.

Unable to read the disk on wii console

do you hear a whirrrrr sound???

Unfortunately it sounds as though there is a problem with your disc drive. To fix this, you will have to send it into Nintendo for repair.

To set up a repair, call Nintendo at 1-800-255-3700, or work your way through the troubleshootingguide to the repair page.

or try to clean it with wii cleanser.

Wii disk error

If the console try to read the disk, but you only get whirring and clicking noise, ending up with a no disk, and if this happens with all disks then it is a lens problem.

Try first cleaning the Wii lens with a cleaner disk, that is the easiest thing to do.

If that does not work, the Wii must be opened to access the lens pickup directly, and clean the lens with Q-tips and isopropyl alcohol, or replace the lens pickup.

If the cleaner disk does not fix it, better to contact Nintendo calling the number listed on the user manual to see if they can cover the repair, or replace the Wii, before disassembling the console.

Wont play disks

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. Wii wont play disk

When the Wii takes in a disk two metal fingers rise up to block the opening. These probably got bent when your two year old tried inserting the second disk. If they are bent they will rub the edge of the disk and prevent it from rotating. If a smaller game cube disk will work then bent fingers is the most likely problem. They can be bent back out.
