Every time i log on to my computer it says the profile u will be loged onto is temporary due to a coruped file or lack of internet security right if the problem persist please contct your locals adminstartory however im the ownly one who uses my computer and i dont have a coupted file since ive don the virus scane sevaral times and there nuinthing i dont know how to log into my normal profile again this profile does not have any of my file ect and documents and does not store any new documents ect each time i researt my computer it will be fresh

I had the same problem and i found the easiest way to fix the problem was put in windows disk and reinstall using upgrade feature

My hp pavilion g series is loged on to a tempery profile so every time i log off everything is erased


Every time that you log on to a Windows Vista-based computer that is connected to a domain, a temporary user profile is created.


When you log off the computer, the user profile is deleted.

This behavior usually occurs because the account that you use to log on to the computer is a member of one or more of the following groups:
•Guests
•Domain Guests

If this is a school/work computer then this is most likely the way the NetAdmin has set it up.

If this is your home computer then a temporary user profile is issued each time an error condition prevents the user's profile from loading.


You may encounter profile issues if you log on with a user in the Guests group.

You need to remove the user in question from the local Guests or "Domain guests" group and that should do it.

1. Click Start

2. Right click Computer and Select Manage

3. Select Local Users and Groups > Groups

4. Double click Guests

5. Check if the user that is having the issue is a member of the Guests group

6. If so, remove the user from the Guests group

7. Log off the workstation and log back on

8. Verify the profile is now local

a. Log on to the system by using an administrative user account other than the user account that is experiencing the problem.

The SID.bak subkey should contain a ProfileImagePath registry entry that points to the original profile folder of the user account that is experiencing the problem.

f. Exit Registry Editor.

g. Log off the system.

h. Log on to the system again.

After you log on to the system, the profile folder is re-created

1. Use SFC / SCANNOW command to help you detect and fix any corrupted or missing system files.


1) Go to Start menu, expand "All Programs" - "Accessories" - "System Tools", right-click "Command Prompt" in the pop-up menu, select "Run as administrator", then input "SFC / SCANNOW" without quotation marks and press Enter.


2) When the "SFC / SCANNOW" command is running, this command will scan every corner of your system, and repair the missing or corrupted files.


2. Shift to another administrator user, if you don't have one, please create a new administrator account and log in.


3. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings folder, backup the data of your original corrupted profile, then delete the corrupted profile and all the temp profiles.


4. Open Registry Editor (type "Regedit" without quotation mark in the start menu blank and open it), search for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList, under the profileList subkey, delete the key named SID.bak.


5. Restart your computer; you will be able to log in the normal profile again.

After you upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) in Microsoft Windows XP SP2, some SSL-secured (128-Bit) Web pages and Web sites may not work correctly. Frequently, this behavior is caused by security changes in Windows XP SP2. To determine why the pages do not display correctly, use the following methods in the order that they are presented.
Turn off the pop-up blocker
Internet Explorer SP2 includes the ability to block pop-up windows. This new feature may block some Web pages. To turn off the Pop-Up Blocker, follow these steps: 1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click the General tab.
2. Click the Privacy tab.
3. In the Pop-Up Blocker section, click to clear the Block pop-ups check box.
4. Click Apply.
5. Click OK.
Delete the contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder
If a copy of the Web page is in the Temporary Internet Files folder, the page may not display as expected. To resolve this problem, you must delete the contents of this folder. To do this, follow these steps: 1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click the General tab.
2. Click Delete Cookies, and then click OK.

Use the System File Checker (Sfc.exe) tool together with the /scannow parameter to immediately scan and verify the versions of all the system files that Windows File Protection helps protect. If the Sfc.exe tool detects that such a file was overwritten, the Sfc.exe tool retrieves the correct version of the file from the Dllcache folder or from the Windows XP installation source files, and then replaces the incorrect file. The Sfc.exe tool also verifies and repopulates the cache folder. You must be logged on as an administrator or as a member of the Administrators group to run the Sfc.exe tool. To run the Sfc.exe tool together with the /scannow parameter, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then click Run.

Third-party browser extensions

Unable to log in to my e-mail account with yahoo......I am using my friends computer,,,,,every time I try to delete her ID to get mine her comes up,,,,we are sharing the computer,,,it worked last...


Try clearing your cookies and temporary internet files. If you are sharing a computer you can always create a new profile and log in as your profile. That way you can keep things separate even if you are sharing the one computer.

Desktop won't load. It goes to the login screen and I type in my password, and it'll say "Welcome" with the spinning circle for a long time, then it'll load me onto a temporary profile. How do I...


go into control panel and create a new user (dont make it the same name as your old profile) then restart the pc and log into that new profile. To retrieve all your settings favourites etc you will need to say what version of windows you are using

Cannot download adobe, (or any) files and get following message:


The problem lies in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Sometimes the index.dat file can become damaged.
If this occurs, you'll have to delete the index.dat file and restart your computer.
Then you'll be able to download files correctly again.
Follow the steps below to delete this file.

1) Open Internet Explorer.
2) Click on Tools, Click on Internet Options
3) On the General tab under Temporary Internet Files, click on Delete Files
4) Click Ok when it asks if you want to delete the files
5) Under the History section on the General tab, click Clear History, then click Ok
6) Close Internet Explorer
7) Log off the current user and Log onto another user account such as Administrator
8) Click on Start, Run
9) Type CMD and Press Enter to open a command prompt
10) Change directories to the Temporary Internet Files directory by typing the following command,
(substituting the correct drive letter and the word username with the correct userName).


cd drive:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

Example: cd c:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

11) type del index.dat and press Enter
12) Type Exit and press Enter to close the command prompt
13) Restart your computer

Once the computer has been restarted, open a web page with a link to a download.
Click on the link and download the file. It should now work.

Once I'm logged in to Facebook, when I click on my profile page it won't load.


This might be due to a limitation on Active X or other components on your IE.
Go to Tools - Internet Options
Under Security, go to "Custom Level"
Under Active X controls and plug-ins - Enable all of the subsections.
Restart and try again.
If it does not work:
Try downloading Firefox and see if the problem persists. If it does not - I suggest uninstalling IE, deleting all temporary internet files and cookies, and reinstalling.
Also try downloading Adobe Flash.
