Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone

LOST WIFI CAPABILITY

I've upgraded from1.1.4 to 2.0.1.
I was able to unlock and jailbreak my iphone using pwg for windows.
All worked perfectly well. First day I was able to install using cydia, via a Wifi connection anything and everything I wanted.
First time I turned off my iphone and next morning turned on...WiFi went "bye bye"....
I can't lock on to any WiFi connections, sometimes the iphone detects wifi connections but when I try to access I always get the cannot access message and when this happens and I leave the preferences icon and go back in, the WiFi is turned off.

I have BossPrefs installed and in from of the WiFi icon I have (N/A).

I've been advised to reset all network settings ( I haven't done this yet, although for peace of mind I will, but I don't belive this will help)

Anyone got a WiFi connection proble like this that can share a potential solution?

HELP IS DESPERATELY WANTED :(

I don't think you have understood correctly the problem.

Your proposed solution makes absolutely no sense in the manner it is posted here.

    Can you please elaborate ?

I have an iphone 3g with firmware 4.2.1 and want to upgrade as i'm not getting a lot of apps as they need a higher firmware

Go to itunes. There, wait for itunes to recognize your iphone. It will then ask you if you want to upgrade. Click yes. If it doesn't ask you if you want to upgrade, try to find the manual button that says upgrade. Don't try to upgrade without using itunes

If you bought your iPhone from someone instead of an official reseller such as Apple Stores and Apple's partners around the world, this could mean that your iPhone was unlocked through a jailbreak and once you upgrade the firmware you lost your jailbreak and your unlock. This means you'll have to jailbreak and apply an unlock so you can use your SIM card. I suggest you take a look at blog.iphone-dev.org and iclarified.com and look for tutorials on iPhone.

How do you jailbreak 3.1.3 iphone

If you have the iPhone 3G, you don't need to stay with this version. You can update to the latest iOS 4.0.1 and still be able to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone.
This guide from eBay perfectly works! Unlock + Jailbreak 4.0, 4.0.1

Happy jailbreaking!

Jailbreaking is possible. But not software unlocking. For that you must buy something like a Turbo Sim. For jailbreaking try the program called Quickpwn

Iphone number pad not working after jailbreak cydia with unlock

I have seen that on older firmwares. Are you running 2.2? I would recommend upgrading to 2.2 (not 2.2.1) and installing yellowsn0w for unlocking.

Iphone 2g unlocked, cannot connect w/ edge. wifi is working

Jailbreaking your iPhone to 2.2 is going to mess up your phone. I've got a jailbroken 2.2 iPod Touch and it's ok - a friend of mine also tried to jailbreak his iPhone to 2.2 and lost connections as well.

Downgrade back to 2.1 and you should be ok.
