A computer tech in my department spent about 30 minutes but was finally able to get the S-video cable to work with my computer. He got the extended monitor to work first. Then by trying many things was able to get the monitor to clone in TV mode (because of the S-video). Thanks for your offer though.

Projector does not detect computer. Tried two computer and nothing. They both work great with the same video cable to the LCD.

Since it is working on a separate LCD monitor, the problem is with the input settings on the projector. Make sure you have the correct RGB/VGA input selected on the projector. Also make sure you are not sending a resolution that is higher than what the projector can handle.

The RED (of RGB) is not firing

Its a problem in either your cable or the projector board. Get a new cord, if the red still dosent work either purchase a new board (expensive) or buy a new projector (slightly more expensive, but worth the investment with the board going out probably more parts to follow). You decide wats best for you.

The projector is not recognizing the laptop, it says searching on the projector screen going through VGA, S video, etc.

Probably got the resolution on the laptop set too high for the projector. Go into your video control panel (accessed by right-clicking the desktop), set up the projector as a cloned monitor and make sure the screen resolution is low enough for the projector to handle.

I have a DLP Benq projector (not sure the model number); and when I plug my laptop to the the projector I get a "Analog RGB" out of range icon. What do I need to do to get my laptop to be projected again....

go into the menu and reset the settings to factory default. after that, select computer again and see if it recognizes it. you may need to change the resolution to match the laptop.

My optoma projector does not find my HP laptop consistently....stays "searching" for hours? Suggestions?

Hi

What type of cable are you using to connect the projector to your laptop? if VGA you have ti press "FN" and F5 or the F key that has a monitor symbol on it. Try using a different cable as well and if it has an auto search button on the projector try pressing it.
Hope this helps

Projector takes 30-40 min to recognize signal from elmo 110xg

the resolution might not match from presenter to projector. are you using rgb, composite or s-video? the signal might not match. there might be an auto adjust on the projector to read and match the elmo's resolution. if not, the elmo may have an issue sending a powerful enough signal to the projector, and need a new main board.

Don't forget to select the Fn key and F4 on HP laptops. It could also be the Fn key and F8 depending on the laptop brand. It is the apple key and the F7 key on a Mac notebook. On Laptops this will toggle the video to the aux port where the monitor cable connects to the projector. There are 3 modes. video on the laptop screen, video on the laptop and projector, or video to the projector only.
