I had the same problem 2 months ago, I went to use my camera and the len wouldin't retract or open, it was stuck that way. I contacted Best Buy and Kodak both and all I was advised to get it fixed, $49.00 just to send it off the Best Buy, my camera was on 150.00 so by the time they spent on labor I'd have to pay way more than it is worth probely.. I was also given tech support what to do still nothing worked at all. I was resigned to have to buy another one after weeks of trying to fix it. Well one day I figured if its already messed up, try one more time what more damage could be done. I turned it off and on again and carefuly moved the lens around myself to see if I could unlog the shutter. Low and behold it worked! I never had to send it in and saved me alot of money. I would suggest doing the same see if it works.

Incidently, my camera worked fine after that for all of 2 weeks, I went to charge it and when I tried to use it............another issue my screen is white with a black pattern and lines on the screen and hasin't worked since. I've never dropped it, put it near water and keep it in it's case when I'm not using it. It's unrelated to the other issue but, guess I'm not suppose to have this camera.

Good luck on you issue hope my suggestion helps.

I have a Kodak EasyShare M340 it was working fine earlier today but now when I turn it on the screen is black and when I take a picture it comes out black too, even with flash I can see the saved pics on...

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

When I turn the camera on, the lens won't open. I can review pics I have taken, but cannot take new ones.

its a problem with your lens cover shutter on the upper face of the lens. Get it repaired in some Kodak service center.

I have M1033 - when the shutter button is pressed half way down it wont focus and shows a red AF on screen. The pics are blurred. Batteries have been changed and lens cleaned.Help please

The red AF is autofocus. If it is red it isn't focused. You will have to hold the button until the red light turns green, then release the button.

Try helping the camera to retract using your fingers while you turn camera off, try also helping lens to full extent if they don't.if you do not succeed in this simple way the camera lens must be taken apart and reassembled at a repair shop.

HELP ME REPLACE THE LENS ON MY KODAK!!!

i cant suggest that you attempt to fix it yourself, is it possible the lcd screen is damaged? take it to a local camera or electronics shop and price check repair costs, you could also check ebay for a do-it-yourself repair setup.

Lens stuck out; camera won't stay on

I have the same problem. Its actually because the On/Off button got pushed in somehow and its stuck. At this time right now, im not sure how to make it unstuck, but sometimes it will stay on. But when you push on, since its being held down, its stuck that way and immediately turns off because its still being held down constantly. Maybe try using a thing needle to try and push it out?
