Question about Lexmark Printers & Copiers
Look on websites and try and download the software.
Your first port of call should be on the manufacturers website .. i.e .. if it's a Canon printer, visit the Canon website and then look for the drivers. They're usually hidden somewhere in a link called 'downloads' 'drivers' or 'support'.
Failing that, try websites such as driverguide.com - just sign up for free then download the software/drivers for the printer if they are there.
You can also try a google search - i.e 'drivers for HP Laserjet 1010' or whatever your printer is. Also try other keywords such as 'free (name of printer) drivers'. There's every likelihood that you WILL find the drivers for your printer.
Many drivers are 'zipped' (compressed) and must be 'unzipped' first. That just means extracting them. To unzip drivers you need a program called Winzip or Winrar on your computer. You probably will have Winzip installed.
Try downloading the firefox web browser (firefox.com) - it only takes a few minutes. Then search for your printer drivers using Firefox. When found and downloaded Firefox will tell you that they are downloaded - click on 'Open' to begin the installation process.
