Simple really!

I had same problem but very carefully cleaned DVD surface with soft specs cloth -played straight away!

Obviously very sensitive to surface imperfections.

Interestingly - playing DVDs via a new Panasonic Viera TX32 LXD 85 gives quite a remarkable upgrade in itself -to be honest I can't see the benefit of spending on a very bulky Blu-ray player until they come down in price and size.

For me the quality is quite good enough for total enjoyment!

Hi, your DVD player might like the disks you use, + or -, maybe it doesnt recognise the format you have recorded in, you say 'Quick Time'? Look for 'DivX or XviD' on your player, this is the common DVD players that people use. When you dowmload a video image look out for XviD or DivX in the title,

BUSH DVD2041/A has suddenly started stating "Wrong Disc" when a disc is put into load - has worked fine for 12 mths before this.

if you can, open the loading drawer and blow real hard inside, sometimes this works, mine does it every once in a while and blowing does the trick. it's dust on the laser eye. you could always take the cover off and clean it with a Q-Tip.

Does not recognise discs

If this disc that you are trying to use is a DVD+/-RW and it has been used a few times for DVD-Video or DivX then you can try to do a FULL ERASE using the excellent ImageBurn by lightining now at v2.5.0.0 it takes about 20 mins to erase a full single sided DVD

Hope this helps.

DivX certified player cannot read DivX files on DVD+R

Is there a Divx logo on the player? Does this particular DVD player capable of reading DVD+R disks?

If you used the Divx converter program, there is a way to create a DVD in Divx format with menus. Did you use that particular program? If you didn't, you may have the DVD in a data format and the player can't read it that way.

Bush recorder no longer finds blank dvd

Owing to the fact that it works with the original discs, the set is probably ok. BUT it's not very compatible with the blank discs you've purchased. You'll have to experiment with various brands until you find those that work. I find my Cyberhome deck is not only particular with some brands, but with different batches of the same brand disc. Ask some of the big box stores that sell blanks and you'll find they get a lot of returns for the same reason, they don't work in the customer's machine. Bush doesn't sound very competent in the customer support dept, so I would look to replace your Bush recorder with something more main line, and probably more expensive and compatible.
Oh, and make sure you are getting the same type of disc- DVD-R and DVD+R are not the same.
