the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Itunes8 reinstalled after uninstalling itunes9 (which gave me a lot of headache!). now everything working but will it erase my iphone 3gs apps data and music when i sync it? many thanks sir...

Hello bingjose,
Since you are using the older version of iTunes, many things will not work, and soon enough, you wont be able to use the iTunes Store at all. You should be able to sync with your iPhone 3G (as long as you previously have synced on that computer with your iPhone and did not restore/reformat) You will be prompted to restore and that is when you click cancel as it will delete your good's on your iPhone).
Your best bet, is to upgrade. (iTunes 10.1 is out now.)

My computer has itunes but every time i try to hook up my ipod it says it need a new version of itunes 8 ive tried 100 times to dowload it but am no able to what can i do?

You need to uninstall ALL Apple software (iTunes, Safari, Quick Time etc) from your PC then restart and re-download iTunes and re-install.

Hope it will solve your problem

Export controller has stopped working (vista 32 bit)

Deinstall it. If you got this with iTunes 9 deinstall that as well and go back to the previous versions which can be found on the Apple website under support. I got rid of both of them and reinstalled iTunes 8.2.1 with quicktime and all of the various programs that were giving me "stopped working" messages all started functioning properly again.

Problem Installing iTunes8 on my PC-no permission for iPodService

You need to be the owner of the pc and have administrator rights.
Try right clicking on the setup file and select run as administrator, that should solve it.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Reseting my ipod

Hi David,

Ok, first get all that music that you do want off that iPod. Use a program like iLinkPod on the mac or iCanExport on a PC.

Next you need to install the very latest version of iTunes8 from the Apple site.

Next, connect the ipod to itunes and then on the main device page of iTunes click the restore button unless it comes up with the message that a new version of the ipod software is available in which case install that.

After it's restarted it should be all ready to go.

All the best

Reinstall iTunes:
  1. First uninstall iTunes from Add/remove programs
  2. Next connect you're iPod to the PC
  3. Go to the Devices Manager by going to Control panels>System>device manager
  4. At the bottom of the list is the USB devices. Find the ipod or a device with a yellow triangle next to it. Right click, choose properties then delete the drivers.
  5. Goto Apple site and download the latest iTunes8 and install it
  6. ReMount your iPod again
  7. With iTunes loaded select the device from the list on the right (if it hasn't already) then click restore on the main screen.
There isn't a reset utility for windows Vista because this is the way to do it. Any version of iTunes above v7.2 will do it.

All the best

Cant find icon to back up

Funny you should rate my last solution post, almost there, yet you cleaned the temp files, surely thats problem solved??, along with instructions to convert to ntfs You should find the backup programme on accessories>system tools> backup. If it's not there then you have to get hold of an XP cd and look in the 1386 folder, open NTBACKUP folder and run the installation.
