I was able to find drivers for this device which turns out to be an
SD Card reader built into the laptop. Here is the site I found it on: http://www.toshiba.com/tai/support/support_cons.jsp
You'll want to click on "Computers and Accessories" on the left hand side, and then select "Laptop Computers".
Upon selecting the correct model, I found all the pertinent drivers for my laptop.
The Category, which is the middle column on the drivers page, is going to be something along the lines of "Driver Flash Memory SD" Az.

Insert your removable disk into the USB port.

Click Start, right click on computer and select manage.

Now, click Disk Management.

Try going into your device manager and finding your USB Mass Storage Device inside, where you saw it earlier. Once there, right click on the removable drive, and pick "Change Letter Drive or Paths" and change the letter to something else. Sometimes when you install a device that uses a letter, (say, "G" for example) and then install another device that uses the same letter, the initial device will not show up. If you change the letter, it should work. I hope that helped.

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value.
click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine.
# Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual.

also
If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:

No sound

try to check the speakers or microphone lines and jacks whether they are connected properly . if still does not work, then check the audio settings under sound and devices in control panel.
If still makes no difference , then try reinstalling the audio drivers via the CD that was provided to you or u can find the drivers on http://www.toshiba.com or http://www.driverfiles.net/Notebooks/Toshiba/Tecra-9100/download/page,sh,31396,221,19,.html
