If you cannot even access the belkin setup page, better try resetting it first by Pressing the reset button for 15 seconds while the power is ON and then try to access again the setup page of the it using a computer wired to the router if still cannot access it better call Belkin support and let one of their tech walk you through in checking the router hopefully its still not defective...

Hope that helps..........

Router ports require configering

I know the ADSL portion of the modem needs configuration. But the routers are settup for default as dynamic and no WEP. At least the ones I have used.
Most belkin routers have a default gateway is Try that and go into the setup. There is also a CD to help with setup.
If you need more help explain more in detail what setup you need.

I lost my ip address I enabled the access port

What type of router is this? (model/manufacturer)
Can you get online?

Go to start
click on Run...
type in 'cmd' and hit OK

in the black command prompt window type ipconfig and find your default gateway. if your default gateway is and it will not load the config page then reset the router to factory defaults.

To reset the router, refer to the service manual that came with the router. Most routers have a reset button that you need a pencil for. Many of them you must hold down for 10-20 seconds. Some of them you must turn the router off, hold the button down, and then turn the router back on (some routers dont have switches so you must pull the power cord to turn them on/off)

Unable to reset a Belkin Wireless N F5D8236-4v1 back to default

That is indeed strange. Holding in the reset button should definitely clear the wireless router memory. Are you sure that you're going to the right administration page to configure the router? It should be something like

Also... by any chance are there other wireless networks nearby? I'm wondering if your computer accidentally connected to that while the wireless router was off... and now you're going to the wrong router.

If none of that works, try leaving the router unplugged for about five minutes. The volatile memory shouldn't last much longer than that.

Make sure that the router is connected to the Internet or WAN port of the router. Do you know how to access the router's setup page? Who is your Internet service provider?
