Question about Kenmore 54701 Dehumidifier
Bought my mother (who lives in another state) 35 quart 54701 model and hooked up so it would drain with a hose into shower stall. Her basement flooded where she lost manual. She needs dehumidifier to dry out basement. It apparently runs but won't drain in hose (have to empty manually)- I'm trying to figure out what the problem is 'remotely' from another state. Please help. Thanks. Rich
You just need to get the water flowing and start the siphoning process by taking out the water bucket while it's full of water and raising it up high enough to start the water flowing. Once the water starts flowing, you can put the bucket back and the water will keep flowing (by capillary action). If the bucket empties completely, you may have to do it again periodically to get the water flowing again.
