Upon checking with the HP people, I found out that unfortunately this model of Printer is not supported by windows 98. You might want to upgrade to windows XP at the very least for you to be able to use this printer.

I am trying to install my printer to my laptop with Windows Vista and the laptop says it is ready. I click print and nothing happens. The software details say that I need to upgrade to Windows 98, NT, or...

I think that the printer driver that you installed in your computer is not a driver for Vista. I checked the supported operating systems and it's compatible with Win 2000 upto Win XP.

BUT, I saw this on a site:

Supported software
Windows Vista HP Deskjet 656c Printer driver utility.

Meaning that there's is a possibility that HP has a Vista driver for your printer. You need to contact HP and ask them where can you get the Vista driver for your printer. I had a feeling that it's the only way that would make the printer work.

Have a great day!

Trying to install HP Deskjet 712c on computer with windows xp

You shouldn't need any software to print to this printer under XP, just let XP find the best or closest match to your printer and install it. It might be a Deskjet 700 or something but it'll work as a printer. The old software was probably for Windows 98.

I have bouht hp deskjet d1500 series ihave fitted it but it said ihave to upgrade my computer to 200 from 98 please could you helpme thankyourita

The problem is that this particular Deskjet does not have any software drivers that are compatible with Windows 98.  Only for Operating Systems that are running Windows 2000 or later. Which includes XP and Vista. The only alternative is to do some research on other printers and make sure that they will be compatible with windows 98.
Of course, there is always an option to upgrading your computer to  Windows 2000 or Xp....

Hi there. I have just purchased the deskjet f2275 and have attempted to install it 4 times. I have followed all prompts and each time it finishes with ''it is not digitally signed. Contact hardware vendor.

right click the my computer icon, then click the printer properties, a system properties window will pop up, in that click hardware, then click driver signing,--
ignore ,install the software anyway and dont ask for my approval.
its done you can use your printer now.
