Insert a small flathead screwdriver under the keyboard bezel and carefully lift it up. Continue releasing plastic latches and removing the keyboard bezel with your fingers

Be careful, on some models the bezel might be connected to the motherboard as it shown on the picture above. If you accidentally pulled the cable, connect it back. It is not necessary to disconnect the keyboard bezel from the motherboard in order to remove and replace the keyboard, just put it aside so you can access the keyboard screws.

Way to slow down the z5610 acer fan? it runs loud after 2 years.

http://computershopper.com/desktops/reviews/acer-aspire-z5610

A) Needs to be opened up. Needs to be cleaned out inside.

Two years? Bet it looks 'scary dirty' inside. After you have cleaned out the inside, donate the 'Gunk' to local mice. They can use it for a condo. (I would charge them rent)

B) Processor may need old Thermal Paste replaced. Clean top of Processor, and bottom of finned Heatsink, and PROPERLY apply fresh, new Thermal Paste.

Primer:
Air is used to cool the inside of that All-In-One desktop computer. The Processor and graphics chipset, are the two hardware components that give off the most heat.

The finned Heatsink, and Processor Fan, are the two cooling components for the Processor. When they get clogged with 'Gunk' over the years, the cooling capacity drops -> tremendously.

The Processor fan sensor, senses that the Processor is too hot, and speeds the Processor fan up. Also BIOS speeds the computer case fan/s up.

Could also be that the bearings for the fan/s are bad. Replacement fan, or fans are needed.

ONE THING HOWEVER Karl, to work on this All-In-One you need to wear an ESD wrist strap, and have it's alligator clip connected to a good ground source.
This is just like working on a LAPTOP computer, NOT a desktop.

Average example,

(And of course unplugged from power)

Need guidance in cleaning, and replacing the Thermal Paste, just post back in a Comment. I will guide you.

My acer aspire 4930 laptop shut down frequently while working

Hi

Maybe you are using this laptop for a quit a long time now without cleaning? you need to clean the exhaust fan. As the thermal protection shuts down the system once the temperature reaches its limits. Cleaning the fan will solve the problem.

The power board has no power how do i open the unit and repair it

If you need to ask "how" to disassemble your laptop, I recommend that you STOP and instead take it to a qualified technician, for professional trouble-shooting and repair, because there are no "end-user-replacable" parts inside the laptop.

Unit is plugged in but not reading as plugged in. Cord works fine on a 2nd acer aspire 5532

The power jack inside the computer is open - maybe a loose solder connection inside. It will need to be disassembled to repair.

My acer aspire 5315 shuts off suddenly and won't restart till it wants to. I replaced the battery, no difference....what's wrong?

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced

Rollerball on Wireless mouse keeps getting gummed up. Cleaning done frequently but need to open mouse to get inside cleaned ?

The Apple wireless mice aren't made to be disassembled, not even by techs. If you disassemble it to clean it, you must glue it back together.
The best way to clean the rollerball is to remove the batteries and roll the ball upside down on a cloth soaked in alcohol. Be sure to roll the ball alternately depressed and not depressed for the best cleaning, and roll it in all directions.
When this no longer works, you can either attempt to clean the ball yourself at your own risk, or purchase a new mouse.

Need to remove and cleankeyboard

Hi there,

Your keyboard may need cleaning, but disassembling a notebook or laptop may cause you more problems when you try to put it back together. Without the proper training on that specific model, I'd advise against it.

There is a protective membrane on the keypad to keep dust and moisture out of the interior.

If it under warranty, opening it up will void it.

If its malfunctioning, an external k/b is an alternative.

But, disassembling it up is a can of worms you don't want to open.

Best regards
Mike

How do I get the back off My Acer 5620 laptop. The CPU fan does not seem to be spinning and it keeps shutting down. I've pulled about 30 screws out of it and the thing doesn't want to split.

hi im josh in cebu phils.may i help you? friend if the cpu fan stops spinning the air inside and the processor heats up easily thats why it will shut down.you need to replace the fan of the cpu to avoid further problems to occur. in removing the screw it will not be disassembled easily because it has a safety bracket lock.to make it open you need to look frot he weak spots and you split that side until it opens the whole unit. thats all good luck hope i helped you.
