My speakers are plugged in correctly but no sound is coming out of the speakers

Do you get sound out of the computer speaker (inside computer)? If not, go to device Manager and see if the sound drivers are loaded. If not, you will have to find the drivers and load them. If you sound from the computer speaker, then I would try the speakers on another computer that you know works with external speakers to ensure the speakers are good.

Trying to connect BA735 speakers to a MacBook? No sound? Are they compatible?

Those speakers were originally supplied with Gateway computer system that had sound cards with digital outputs. While some versions had analog and digital sound inputs, most often the speakers had digital input only. The on-board sound in the eMachines is analog output only, so the speakers are most likely not compatible with your computer. If you want to use those speakers, you will need to locate a PCI sound card with digital output.

It's a matter of the output from the computer's sound card (built-in) being incompatible with the speaker input. The card is sending out analog sound wile the speakers are expecting digital input. Downloading a driver won't help because that doesn't fix the root problem. You need to get speakers designed for analog input, or a sound card with digital output. As it stands now, your computer just can't use those speakers.

Since your using a MacBook there is no option for this Pci Digital Sound Card.

I don't know what is the operating system you are using with your computer.Still we can check, first we need to find out if the problem is with the speaker or with the computer.

Try these steps
  • connect those speakers with other computer check the sound, if you are getting sound there it means speakers are ok need to check computer audio setup and hardware.
  • If you are not getting any sound connecting speakers with other computer then it is speakers need to replace.

Incase speakers are ok Disconnect the speakers

  • restart the computer, check if there is windows sound if not
  • right click on the volume control icon on the left hand button corner of the screen, uncheck the mute option.still not getting any sound?
  • try to download the audio driver from the dell support site.still not getting
  • need to check the internal speaker connection,if it is fine
  • go to this website http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and click on Restore sound -windows Audio service and run the tweak,YOU NEED TO USE INTERNET EXPLORER
  • still you cannot hear the sound change the internal speaker.

I need an instruction manual to hook the speakers to my computer

There are no manuals for speakers. Speaker wires are color coded. Computer sound cards are likewise color coded.
the light green sound card mini plug port is where the green speaker wire is plugged in.
Pink is for microphone.
Black and orange sound card ports are for additional speakers.

Make sure the speakers are hooked up properly and also that the sound card drivers are installed, you can verify this by going into the device manager. The main speaker wire has to be hooked up to the output of the computer sound card.

If the sound card drivers are installed and the speakers are hooked up properly and your still not getting sound, try the speakers on another computer that you know has sound. If the speakers work then its a sound card driver issue on the original computer. If the speakers don't work on another computer then you know the speakers are bad.

My speakers are not working on my computer. I put

Sounds as if you lost the audio drivers for your sound card. Go into your Control Panel and call up SOUNDS. Double-click on any sound listed and see if you get an error message stating you don't have a sound card.

If that's the case, go to the website for your brand of computer and search for the audio drivers for your make and model computer.
