DVD/6CH No/Very low sound

Hi everyone I have a very odd problem with the RT 2600 every output works perfectly except for the DVD/6CH source. I test toned every source and only that one is not working. I use it for my computer and have never had any problems with it. When i connected it to my computer I could very faintly here the sound but only when the reciever and the computer auido was maxed out. I tried a factory reset but this did nothing. Please help me as I desperately need the 6 CH to work

the unit is ok. User manual on page 42 says that the digital sources can not be output trough multisource output.
Try to use VCR-1 VCR-2 audio output jacks instead.

I can only set up the system with CD/DVD not the 6ch/dvd on the select dial. May be wired up incorrectly.

No names of anything. have you looked at any manuals?

"6ch/dvd" is generally for 6-channel analog input from, say, an SACD player, the intent being to prevent direct digital copying of the original source. Selecting it will bypass all internal digital sources and digital processing.

Cant get sound out of all speakers when watching a dvd but they work there fine on aux, only 2 front an sub on 6ch

If you don't actually have a 6-channel analog source connected to the 6ch input you will get only the number of channels you DO have connected.

BTW: if you name the device(s) the answers get better. Or just look in the manual.

I have no sound. Picture is perfect.

All what is needed is to confirm the section that is suspected. So use an external audio signal from a DVD or source to be connected to the LINE IN /AUDIO IN of the TV. now select the AUX and check if there is sound . If so the output section of the audio is working. If not check the voltage to the output IC or it can be defective. Also check the speakers, test using a multimeter.
Now try using the LINE OUT/AUDIO OUT from the TV to be connected to a amplifier. If sound is not heard the preamp/SIF section can be faulty. If so a signal test will be required to confirm the faulty part.

Plug a device that actually has a 6 channel analog output into the DVD/DVD 6Ch inputs. Configure THAT device to put out 6-channel analog.Select ANALOG 6CH on the remote (page 16).

It will power off if the frequency range of the signal being sent to it is set too low, or the amplitude of the signal is too low as well.

Try increasing the subwoofer crossover frequency and/or increase the gain from the LFE/SUB of the receiver/preamp you have it connected to. Also make sure that in the setup menus of ALL of your components have an LFE channel enabled such as by selecting the output of source material of your DVD player for example, to output 5.1. Otherwise, it will not send a signal for the subwoofer to play, nor will it play the signal if the crossover frequency is set too low.

Example; the setting on your DVD player setup menu is set to two channel: result with only one exception, subwoofer will not play

Example; subwoofer/LFE level on receiver/preamp set to -10dB and/or subwoofer volume too low. Result: subwoofer will not play.

Example; subwoofer crossover point set at 35Hz. Source material playing sound at 30Hz and lower. Result: subwoofer will not play.

Hooking up the RT 2600

connect all the devices into the receiver inputs then there should be 1 set of outputs to the tv. This is to play everything using surround sound as all the video and audio is going through your recevier... if you want to do HD and have surround sound you will need a new receiver as this one has no hdmi inputs or outputs.

Audio Output Problem

Select DVD Input source, then press the Setup button on the remote (it's under the DVD control block near Subtitle). Go to the Speaker Setup Page and select LT/RT or Stereo. After I set it up it seems to work for other Input modes also. I have the 27" model.
