VCR error messages

Our VCR (Panasonic Super Drive NV-SD220) is currently displaying a "F 05" error message. It has, in the past, displayed a "F 13". Can anyone help with what these messages mean? Thanks

SOURCE: Error E3 on Mitsubishi HS-U795

Try this :
If your VCR malfunctions, try the following steps prior to contacting your Mitsubishi Dealer:
1 Check the Trouble Checks below to see if there is a solution to the current problem that you are
experiencing.
2 If the problem is not addressed on the Trouble Checks, the safety circuits in the VCR may be in
operation, thus please try the following: (the clock setting and the timer recording will be deleted.)
1 If possible, press EJECT on the front panel and remove the tape.
2 Press TIMER RESET on the rear panel with a pencil or a ball point pen.
3 If a tape is not loaded, press POWER to turn the power on. If a tape is loaded, wait about 1 minute
until the tape protecting function is completed, then press POWER.
3 You may also try the following procedure if the above steps did not resolve the problem (All settings will
be reset to the default settings.).
1 Press POWER on the front panel continuously for about 8 seconds until the current time display on
the front panel shows "- : - -."
2 If a tape is not loaded, press POWER to turn the power on. If a tape is loaded, the tape protecting
function will work and "99" will appear on the front panel display to begin count down. Wait about 1
minute until it reaches "00" to show the tape protecting function is completed, then press POWER.
If the problem with your VCR persists, contact your Mitsubishi dealer for assistance.

Press "Action" on your remote control. Go to "Play repeats" and turn it off. "Play" will then replace "Rep" on your display.

SOURCE: Have HO2 error on panasonic VCR - can anyone help?

You have a K-Mech model and HO2 means that the tape did not withdraw when unloading. The cause of this is either the Capstan motor, the timing of the mechanism, and most likely (if you ask me) the mode switch.
Quote K-Mech for parts etc, you can also find service information for this model on the web.

Panasonic NV-Fj620 What's youThe turns it self off a few seconds after being swithched on. Display shows F 04. Please advise what the fault is.r problem?

This deck uses the K-Mechanism. Which you can find information by searching the web for it. F04 means the mechaism is locking up whilst it's unloading. The solution is to look at the Load Motor and the timing of the drive to it.

My Panasonic NV-HD660 VCR is not unloading/ejecting a video cassette, in fact turns off itself and shows error message HO2, please help!

Yes the most likely cause is the mode switch, you can spray it with Servisol Video 40 or replace it. But you will need the service manual for that. The good news I think your model uses a K-Deck, and there is plenty on-line about the Panasonic K-Deck.

Has VCR to TV hookup been changed? Cabling errors will result in no display from the VCR (no tape video/audio, no menu display). If you are using the TV aux/VCR input connections, you must select this input before anything from the VCR will be displayed. If you've verified hookup is correct, then perhaps something is afoul with the VCR. Try hooking it up to another TV.
