    it was a dc 12 volt adapter. if it is cooked i should just buy another yes?

You might have cooked it.  Do you know the power ratings on the car lighter adapter you used and do they match what's on the bottom of the DVD player?

    Yes.  You have to watch the amps on the adapter and make sure they match as well as the polarity of the adapter.

Dvd wont load

Try multiple store bought dvd's if all of them don't work then the dvd drive will need to be replaced. Usually the manufacturer will replace it instead of repairing. Repairing is usually as expensive as just buying a new one.

Error "no disk"

maybe the lens is not light up or the motor 5volts of the disk loading is too weak need to replace it.(
