Zyxel p-600 series -model of modem is a router too? because i used a d-link router and i want to use the ip-address that gave to me by the isp, how can i configured that? do i need to disabled the d-link router?
No the zyxel modem you stated is not a router. you would need to plug in your router first then plug in your modem to the router then turn your router on first then you modem and then your pc your d-link roter should automatically configure itself. you just need to repeatthis everytime you connect another pc to the router.. :-)

You have to set different ip address. To clear this up this how I got my setup. I have verizon internet. I use a westell 6100g modem, I have the local ip address set for 192.168.1.1 and I got a linksys wireless router and the ip address set for 192.168.9.1. Then I plug my modem into the wan port and it works. What am I doing is setting a static ip address from my modem to the router and using the router to distribute my address through the network. If you have any printers on the network you need to change that numter to 192.168.9.x number. If you don't have two different numbers set the router will take over.
hello! i will be more than glad to assist u.. first things 1st. check the type of modem do u use a, are using a cable model from a cable isp provider, dsl model or model router.. If u are using a cable modem from ur cable isp.. u need to mac clone the network interface card of your computer.. if you are using a dsl provide- it could be a pppoe or static ip addressinf, if pppoe u need to setup the username and password given to u by ur isp provider to the router or if its a static ip u need to check the ip address of you computer if its connected directly to the modem, how to check- click on start and then run, type incmd and it will give u the dos prompt, from there type ipconfig/all and it will give u all the details like ip address, subnetmask, gateway, dns server and u need to input it to the router on static ip addressing... i hope this will help..
