My Apex AT2702 has under scan. Both vertial and horiz. sweeps are pulled in about 1/2 inch. Any componet change experienced in order to fix?

    No! Under scan has nothing to do with vertical hold.

Try to reset first;

Resetting the TV

Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can saved time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet for 3 - 4 hours.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

hope this may help;

Regards,
VOTIT

You can get into the service mode by entering the special code from the remote control. But, you must have the service manual in order to get that information.

Go to this web site:

http://www.worldwideelec.com/apex_asc_site/apex.html

Then download the service manual for the model marked APEX AT2702 & AT2702S. It is not exactly the same model, but the service mode will be the same as far as I know.

Then, go to page 48 of the manual and follow the instructions on entering. There is a table given for all the adjustments that can be made for the set.

Menu 04 will give you control of the vertical size and position, etc.

Hope this will guide you sufficiently to get it adjusted properly.

Being that it is an apex tv those are basically "throw away tv's".They are made quite cheaply and offer no support/parts. Are you planning on repairing this yourself?
Thanks,
Lee

Well most of the modern tv today doesnt have vertical hold anymore.
this symptom is caused by a trouble in the IC integrated circuit or the vertical oscillator circuit. let the service guy do the job if u dont know anything about this. good luck!

Is my apex tv AT2702 high def??

According to apex its not and does not have a digital tuner the only way this can be high def would be 720P meaning 720 lines progressive scan.

Your aspec Ratio is 4:3 this indeed is a standard TV without a digital tuner so you will need a digital setop box or a digital tuner.

High DEF is not considered digital its conidered how many lines are displayed on the TV. For example 720p, 1080p .

How do I replace the color wheel in a Samsung?

The following link will give you a step by step on how to do so. I did so and it worked perfect http://www.jangro.com/electronics/samsung-dlp-replace-color-wheel/. If once you install the new color wheel the colors on your screen are reversed all that has to be done is pull out the TINY rubber looking thing with 2 pins in it under the yellow/white sticker, not 1 inch or 3/4 inch under the sticker. Right below the sticker where that rectangular opening is.

You have a cold solder connection on the vertical output IC or in the sweep power supply that feeds the voltages to the vertical output IC. You can download a service manual from here: http://www.servicemanuals.net/results.aspx?type=SM&brand=0&model=36AFX61 Good Luck

Sony 32in

This could be one or a combination of problems. Ive seen this to mbe a simple bad solder joint on the horizontal drive transformer, or a componet in the sweep power supply, or a dryed up capacitor in the standby power supply. Unless you know how to check solid state componets ,this is a job for an expert. Sorry couldnt assist you more. Good Luck

Tv problems

You have whats called a verticle sweep falure. This is a componet falure and not something a handy-person should attemt to repair as theres some electronic troubleshooting involved, and some very high voltages inside the set. This happens to be a nice set, and if it was mine, I would invest the 100.00 150.00 to repair this set. Good Luck
