You need to verify wether you have actually downloaded free version or licenced and if you have downloaded free version then you have to select free version while installation and it will be with less features.

If you try to install full version or try to upgrade after installation it will as for the security code.

Office installation problem

The microsoft software installed is not free and you have to pay Microsoft a fee and they will provide the product key.
However there's a free software called Open Office and I mean free! with no natsy things on it. Just type the name into Google to find it. I have it installed on my PC. It will even import Microsoft files with no problems! It even looks like it!

Product key `

If you have Microsoft Office installed on your computer you can retrieve the product key very easily using a program called "Magic Jellybean Keyfinder" available from http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ There are 2 versions one which has to be paid for and one which is free. The free version, on the left, will solve your problem. Click the DOWNLOAD icon and when download is complete install the program. You'll be asked to accept terms and conditions for an AVG toolbar. You don't need to accept them unless you want an AVG toolbar. Accept the conditions for the Magic Jellybean Keyfinder and it will install. Tick " Add icon to desktop" and when it's installed launch the program.

It will show you details of your windows installation when it starts up. On the left panel you'll see the programs it has found keys for which should include Microsoft Office. Highlight "Microsoft Office" by clicking on it in the left panel. The product key should be shown in the right panel.
I hope this solves your problem.

I need a prodct key for 2010 publsiher

i don't know where you got your Microsoft Office Publisher 2010 from but I think if you check carefully you might find that it is not genuine.

if you bought Microsoft Office online from a genuine authorized microsoft retailer then you would have received the product key with the software. there are some websites online which claim that you can download Microsoft Office Publisher 2010 from them but as far as i know there is nowehere on the internet where you can download a genuine copy of any Microsoft Office software except the official Microsoft website.

the only Microsoft Office product you can download is the trial version of Microsoft Office 2010. trial versions of Microsoft Office are free to download but can only be used for the limited trial period. after the trial period ends you have to upgrade to the full version and pay Microsoft for an online activation code which unlocks the trial version's time limitation and allows you to use it indefinitely.

if you need this type of software but do not want to or cannot afford to pay what Microsoft Office costs, then you can use completely free software like OpenOffice, which is very similar to Microsoft Office and can even be used to open most Microsoft Office documents. you don't have to pay anything at all to download OpenOffice.

the website for Microsoft Office trial and activation code downloads is - www.microsoft.com

the website for OpenOffice is - www.openoffice.org

I have downloaded microsoft 2007 free pack while installing it is asking for product key where i can get that

If It's an illegal download you should just search google a bit, if it's legal, just contact microsoft and tell your email adress, that'll make them give you the key.

I lost my Microsoft OFFICE STANDARD 2007 and ask whether there is a way to downlkoad the application on basis key product keys I still have?

I don't think you can just download it. Call Microsoft support, explain that you lost it, give them your product key, and ask them to send you a new disk.

I want to use the microsoft word in my laptop but i cannot use it because i don't know the product key.

If your PC came with the full version of Microsoft Office the product key should be in with your original paperwork. Unfortunately many PC's ship with a trial version of Office - if it's asking for a product key your trial period has likely expired.

You may be in luck if you have Microsoft Works installed - it's essentially Office Lite and has a fully functioning word processing software. It will even allow you to edit original Word documents.

If you don't have Works installed there are many free office suites available for download - the most popular being Open Office - downloadable here http://www.openoffice.org/

I don't know how install ms word 2007 on my pc

You buy Microsoft Office (around $280) from an online site like

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/buy/buy-office-2010-FX101843016.aspx?WT%2Emc%5Fid=ODC%5FENUS%5FOATProdHome%5FMonBuy

and you will get an link to an installer and a registration key. You download the installer, launch it and , when asked, you input the key. When all is over you will have a link on the desktop for Word.
If you don't have the money then install Open Office, which is free - in it the equivalent of Word is called Writer

I have the cd for microsoft office but my product key does not work please help i have many work to do on publisher, word, power point and excel!!!

Publisher is not a component of Office Standard 2007, so I wouldn't expect that the Product Key for Office Standard would not install/activate Publisher 2007.

Look here for a license: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/HA102103171033.aspx
