Here is the answer:
Daisy did 2/5ths or %40 of the barn in those two days as she can do the whole lot in 5 days she did 2/5ths or %40 in 2 days so thats %40 of the barn done.
Didith did 2/8ths or %25 of the barn in those two days,
so the amount of barn painted in the first two days is: 1/4 + 2/5 which equals %65 of the barn complete in the first two days. so there is %35 of the barn left to paint and only Daisy (who can paint %20 of the barn in one day)
so to figure out how many days it takes Daisy to paint %35 of the barn this is what to do:
%20 = 1day %35 - %20 = %15 5x5x5x5 = 20 5x5x5 = 15 therefore it takes Daisy 1/4 of a day to paint %5 of the barn therefore it takes Daisy 3/4 of a day to paint %15 of the barn (i hope you are following me here!) 1 + 3/4 = one and three quarters of a day
Therefore it took Daisy one and three quarter days to paint the remaining %35 of the barn.
So it took Days one and three quarter days to finish the job after Didith left.
Hope this is helpful

Sealing laminate flooring

for determining that more information is needed, especially what type, brand/manufacturer, what thickness, base and chemical base of it...

in most cases sealing laminate (especially printed laminate!) is bad idea. if this laminate is with wood overlay at the top, with thickness of at least 1.5mm (1/16") and not chamfered edges (for skilled craftsman - floor installer, even 1mm) , then you can use any type of floor paint on the top,

you will need to wear chemical mask if you use poly or any solvent based paint, mask will not be necessary if you use water based paint. during sealer process - you can keep windows open, but not during painting... open windows will cause ripple effect on the paint!

prepare floor in following method:
sand very lightly (matt only indeed) firstly whole area with #120 or even #150 mesh and then with scourer of #180 or #240, if possible use rotary, do not forget to do edges of the rooms! and especially corners...

if this is "bare" wood then:

1. use universal sealer, use good quality paintbrush (50mm - 2") on the edges and corners of the floor and use good quality long hair roller on broad area, sealer will dry up within half hour to 1hr, depending on temperature and humidity, after seal dry,
2. paint directly over prepared floor with appropriate paint, suitable to the sealer and your requirements.
3. after 24hrs, scour area again in method as above and then
4. strain the paint and paint final coat.
5. wait at least 24hrs before you step on the floor,
6. wait at least 5 to 7 days before moving furniture in, especially haevy items!
7. wait at least 30 days before you put rugs or mats on the floor

if this is pre-painted laminate and no damage to it, you skip point 1 and follow from point 2.

it is labour intensive process and albeit cut can be made in several days, paint must be done in single go! better if you have some assistance, one person doing the edges and one person rolling the paint. i do this sometime alone but usually one of the ta's will assist me... paint need to be applied rather thick in even motions no puddles and no bare bits left on the floor!

if you think about skipping cutting stage - DONT! - paint will start flaking and peeling away sometimes in few days or weeks, sometime after a year or so...

Kitchenaid Artisan KSM150 Stir problem - Stir speed is the same as setting 2, but all others (4, 6, 8, 10) work fine. Tried adjusting the control board but "stir" and "2" still spin...

You are not adjusting the screws correctly. All three screws (2 top left and right, and 1 bottom)
must all be adjusted. Here is how:

1. Loosen the lock nuts enough & Turn the 2 top screws clockwise until they cannot be turned
anymore. Leave the bottom screw alone for now.
2. Use a dab of white paint or paper whiteout to mark the positions of the Phillips screws.
3. Plug in your mixer and Set the speed selector to "Stir".
4. Turn each top screw One full turn couterclockwise (alternating between Left and Right)
Keep making one full turn at the time (for both left and right) until the motor starts running.
5. Put your hand near the Agitator shaft and allow it to brush your finger slightly. Use your
watch or clock and start counting the number of times the shaft touches your finger in
60 seconds. The correct count should be 60 RPM (Rounds Per Minute). If it is less
or more than 60, give each screw 1/4 turn counterclockwise or clockwise and start counting
again. Now tighten both lock nuts.
6. Set the speed selector to "6" and turn the bottom screw either clockwise or counterclockwise
to achieve a speed of 180 RPM.

For your reference, the planetary RPM's for the 5-qt. tilt-head Artisan Stand Mixer are as follows:

Stir speed - 60
Speed 2 - 95
Speed 4 - 135
Speed 6 - 180
Speed 8 - 225
Speed 10 - 280

I have a wagner airless paint sprayer single piston twin stroke. It hasn't been used in over two years. I started sealing a cedar sided house with a Tohmpsons Type of product two days ago. It worked great...

Yes, yo can repair it. there is compound problem with the unit. Please use this advice for future to save yourself time and money.

Before you store any painting equipment for longer than few days:

1. Strip equipment to base pieces,
2. Clean them with paint stripper
3. Wash them in water and then dry them through
4. Wash them in solvent, dry them, put vaseline on rubbing parts
5. Store in dust protecting rags or bags

You just used your gun without cleaning it, that was part of the problem, gqasket on the bottom of the piston was weakened by paint and two years of storage, you did not strain paint, you just used it directly from the can. chunky bit from the can (there are always bits forming around the toip and sides of the can) clogged piston, giving impression that there is no paint, you incresed the pressure and gasket give up on you...

Just follow advice, clean the gun, put it to pieces, find which gasket (I suspected that this one will be from the bottom of the piston), most of hardware stores have spares for these guns, buy exactly same dimension, put gun back together and this should solve your problem.

I do that sort of the "surgery" on the tble with several layers of old newspapers under and last laer butchers paper, I put my pieces in order in which i removed them so I can easy put them back together. Always strain paint, always clean gun...

Hope this will help solve your problem :-)

How to daisy chain iogear 8-port miniview

GCS78 can be daisy chained up to 3 levels only.

Let's say you will start with two levels. KVM1 and KVM2.

The ports 1 to 7 of KVM1 should be available for computers, but the port 8 of your GCS78 is for your KVM2.

The port 1 of your KVM2 should be connected to the port 8 of your KVM1. And the rest of the ports of KVM2 should be avail for the computers as well.

Toggling between computers. You need to quickly hit Scroll Lock twice to enable the OSD of your KVM switch. From there, it will give you an option to select which computer you would like to access.

Or you may manually toggle between computer. Here's how:

Scroll Lock twice + port # - Example: Scroll Lock twice + 5 + Enter - The KVM will switch to the computer that is connected to port 5 of KVM1.

If you would like to switch to the computer that is connected to KVM2:

Scroll Lock 2x + 8 (because KVM2 is connected to port 8) + Enter - now the focus of the toggling is in KVM 2. Now, you may hit again Scroll Lock2x + port # + Enter.

You may also refer to the user manual of your KVM for more info. Look for the OSD portion.

Thank you and good luck!

2002 Kia Sportage won't start. Not the battery...after you turn it off sounds like someething is running under the hood. Cannot get it started to take to a mechanic. I am a woman alone, please help!

Under the hood on the passenger side is a fuse panel that has 2 solenoids that push in. One is the gas solenoid that sends current to the fuel pump to start car. If this is bad your car will not start. Know this from experience because after a mechanic put in a $500 fuel pump and the car did the same thing 2 days later I purchased the new relay for $11. Runs fine!
