Hello friends an fellow countrymen, I have a Presonus ACP88 compressor limiter with noise gates that melted the bridge, and transformer. I am trying to find a replacement transformer. Called Presonus and they left me on hold forever. It has a center taped three wire output, I assume it's 24 or better each leg, based on the input voltage of the caps, 50volt each 700uf. In fase or out? Any help?

Transformers rarely need replacing unless they plugged into wrong voltage (high) source. Still, a fuse should have opened. Transformers are dipped in varnish and often look damaged when they are fine. I have Presonus mixers but those all use switching power supplies. You can probably assume that the output of the regulators are around +/-15 volts and that the DC to the regulators will need to be about 20 volts for headroom. With a single diode drop assuming FWB with center tap, we need around a 15 volts either side of center transformer... you MIGHT get by with a 27 volt center tapped... probably not a 24 volt one. Recommendation... get an original one... In audio equipment the transformers often are specially designed to run low on the saturation curve or have magnetic shielding to avoid hum. If you call Presonus, DIRECTLY ask for "Parts" or "Repair Parts" else you are likely put on hold for sales or marketing.

Fender mustang noise

This isn't much information to go on. I may can help if you could be more specific. What amp? Presets of what? What software? What noise gate? Where is this noise, amp output or pc input? A computer sound card can do weird things when musical equipment is plugged into it, some mice will do it, making noise when you move the mouse around. I'm guessing how you are set up, if you get back to me, I will try to help you further.

Buzz on all four outputs

This kind of noise is caused by so called dirty AC signal, I installed a surge protector which has a noise filter in it, almost all do, even the cheapest ones. .

My mdx 1600 compressor goes off on one channel. if you switch off then back on it comes on again

Make sure all your audio interconnects are either XLR or TRS cables to avoid noise that might cause this. Also make sure ALL and I do mean ALL interconnected sound equipment is powered from the SAME receptacle OR power conditioner module. Powering equipment from buillding receptacles at opposite ends of a room is asking for trouble.

Hi, I have a tc electronics finalizer 48k and i find that i am getting background hiss on my recordings, i have isolated the problem to the finalizer, is this a psu problem?

A common problem with signal-to-noise ratio is having too much gain in the FINAL stages of an audio path, be it analog gain or gain in a digital path. If signals or data is recorded in early stages at too low a level and then normalized in the final stages to bring up to desired level, the dynamic range of the level is sacrificed and the noise level will be large versus the desired signal.

What fuse does the Presonus ACP88 use? and why does it blow?

Do NOT replace fuse without repairing the CAUSE of it blowing. Fuses blow as a result of excess current being drawn. They protect from further internal damage. They can blow because of an internal failure or because the inout power is outside of the specified value...ALWAYS check your power source. Always power all interconnected equippment from one receptacle or power source.

Hi the buttons are sticking on my finalizer express what should I do

If the buttons are MECHANICALLY sticking to the escutcheon they pass through, try using a bit of CRC226 spray on a QTip to wipe the sides of the buttons.

CRC226 is available at Home Depot in the EELECTRICAL dept.
