UNIT OF MEASURE OPTIONS The YARDAGE PRO TOUR can be used to measure distances in yards or meters. The unit of measure indicators are located in the upper right portion of the LCD. To select between yards and meters, look through the monocular, depress the "mode" button (left side of the unit underneath the BUSHNELL YARDAGE PRO logo) and hold it down for approximately 2 seconds. If you are changing from yards to meters, a change in unit of measure will be indicated by the illumination of the letter M for METER indicator while the YD for YARD indicator is turned off. If you are changing from meters to yards, the opposite will occur. Note: The YARDAGE PRO TOUR will return to the last setting used, each time the unit is turned on.

Metric system is an easier to use and understand measuring system for all like distances and weights and volumes. 1 milimeter x 10 = 1 Centimeter
1 centimeter x 10 = 1 decimeter
1 decimeter = 1 meter
1000 meters = 1 kilometer (and 1.6 kilometer = 1 mile of the older system)
compare it to the older system
1 inch x 12 = 1 foot
3 feet = 1 yard
220 yards = 1 furlong
8 furlong = 1 mile (some sense of humour where you would go mad multiplying these numbers).
similarly in volumes and weights the metric is in terms of 10s while the older system was as maddening as the distances. But Americans still prefer the mile and pounds system. They are entitled to their humour or humor.
A yard is 1 dimensional so just a straight line. A cubic yard is 3 dimensional so imagine a box with all sides being 1 yard long, the volume of this box is a cubic yard.
