Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

In spite of re-loading the software for my CanoScan LiDE 90, when I try to use it, I get the following message: "Cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be disconnected. Check status.Scanner driver will be closed" When I plug the cable back into my computer, I get a message that it has found the new hardware and that it is ready to use. What should I do next??

Check this
go to File
print
see if the driver is there, if Yes right click on it and set as default
If no, then re-load when it says found new hardware.

Not a solution, but a confirmation. My Canoscan Lide 60 is no longer recognized by the system. It seems as though it does not power up. It gets its power from the USB interface. There is no "on" switch. Are there diagnostic tools available?

When I try to scan with my canonscan lide 70 I get a message "specify the program where the scanned image is transferred"


You just need to point the program to where the scanning program was installed. If you just let it auto-load it should be here: (assuming you loaded the free toolbox software)
C:\Program Files\Canon\CanoScan Toolbox Ver5.0\CSTBox.exe
or just look at where the toolbox is installed by searching for the CSTBox.exe file.

Hi there, I have a Canon Flatbed scanner (Lide 25) and when i try to scan i get an error message as follows: 'Unable to load TWAIN server'. How can i fix this?

A Simple fix just reinstall your software that came with the scanner and this should re establish the link between twain and your scanner

I was able to install the CanoScan Toolbox by doing the following: MacIntosh HD --> Library --> CFMSupport --> Get Info. Under 'Sharing & Permissions', I added my name & changed 'Read only' to 'Read & Write' .

Problem now: I can't install the LIDE 30 Scanner Driver. I clicked on the downloaded driver & a box opened. I clicked on ScanGear CS Installer, but that didn't work. I then clicked on 'Into Plug-In' --> ScanGear CS 7.0X --> Choose Application --> CanoScan Toolbox 4.1 --> Plug-Ins, but couldn't continue as the 'Open' tab was greyed out. What should I try? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Problem have lost the installation cd for my canoscan lide 25 flatbed


Drivers and manuals are available here. Wait a few seconds for all files to load, then select your OS in the box. After a few more seconds, the drivers and software for your OS will be listed.

Download both the driver and the CanoScan Toolbox. Follow the instructions to download and install.

Mine just always says Cant Communitcate with scanner. i have tried 2 new usb cable and two different macs and pc it is a crap scanner i hate it with a passion

Scanner won't communicate with my Mac


Uninstall the software with scanner unplug from your MAC. Install the software with the scanner disconnected, then connect it b4 the first use of the software.
