\windows\system32\kdcom.dll Missing or corrupt Kernel debugger

Try tapping F8 at bootup to enter safe mode, read your manual to see if you have a recovery partition on your HDD. You didn't post the model so I have no clue.

If you can enter safe mode you need to try system restore, not last good know configuration.

If you see last know config on your screen, then you should also see safe mode.

So you need to run in safe mode, and run system restore, or run the recovery mode if you have a recovery partition on the HDD.

If none of these work, then you only have three options, go to Avira.com, download the rescue disk, burn it to a CD and run it in DOS, this is before windows boots. Now if malware corrupted the DLL, Avira will kill it, but there is a chance it can't clean it and will destroy the files,DLL, and windows won't boot. So now you have to do below.

The other option is you need to download windows, what ever version you have, if you have win 7 home 32bit, then you have to download it, and burn it to a DVD. Then try a repair, if a repair does not work then you need to reinstall windows, and then install all the drivers like, (chipset, video, sound, lan, wifi)

This option, you can contact Acer and see if they have a recovery disk for you.

Good luck.

My lap top tells me that i have 167 errors that it picked up.and i can not get into nothing on there wht can i do.i need to do my school work. i can not excess e-mail or nothing.

Sounds like a virus. You may be able to access a few things in safe mode (power up the computer at the Dell splash screen, tap the F8 key, choose safe mode). You might be able to scan the computer for a virus in this mode and clean it.

A better choice would be: Boot to safe mode, and try to back up your important documents (if you have not all ready). Now place the Dell OS disk in the DVD drive and reboot the computer. When it asks you to hit any key to boot from cd... do it. This will erase the computer (virus and all) and reinstall the OS (follow the prompts to reinstall the OS). Once the computer reboots you will need to run the driver disk to reinstall all you hardware. You will then need to run each software disk to install your software. Make sure you install anti-malware software (Norton, AVG, Panda, Avria just install one). You can now scan the device you backed up your important documents to (to make sure it is clean), and then copy them back to your laptop.

I find the above solution the best because, a virus is like termites in a house. You can kill the termites but the damage has been done to the structure. By reinstalling the computer, you kill the virus and fix the structure at the same time.

My D430 laptop may have caught a virus. When I power up Windows can't even open and it jumps right over to a suspicious page that tells me to try a few options to click on but none work. I can't even get...

Yes, download the following and put them onto a USB pen drive:

Lavasoft Adaware
AVG antivirus Fee
Smitfraudfix

Also download the latest definitions for Lavasoft Adaware and AVG as separate files (these will be available somewhere on their websites)

Start the computer and tap F8 as it boots. Select safemode no network when the menu appears during bootup.

If you get into safe mode windows, right click "my computer" and switch off system restore point.

Copy Smitfraudfix onto the desktop and run it.

reboot into normal mode.

If not fixed, go back into safemode:

Install Lavasoft Adaware, run the update file, do a full system scan then deactivate the software completely.

Do the same with AVG. If you struggle to deactivate AVG, uninstall it after the scan.

Boot back into normal mode. If these three haven't got it but you can get into safe mode, install and run Hijack This, and post the results on a hijack this forum.

If you cant get into safe mode, your OS is probably dead.

Dell laptop runs in safe mode only

Try a system restore - boot to safe mode and restore it to an earlier working state.

System shut down during update installation now won't boot up to windows vista and wont work in safe mode either. Loads a few files in safe mode but then goes to a black screen and stays there.

you need to run a nifty little program called Spinrite on your laptop. You can download it via BitTorrent2.gif HERE

you will need to use a program to burn the ISO image2.gif onto disk and make it bootable. I use PowerISO . It is very easy and straight forward. You can download it HERE (use the name: Dr.Upload
serial: SKSIP-7AIX1-8YWEZ-U197K-T88IE ) to remove restrictions.

Open the iso file2.gif using PowerISO. Now we have to make it a bootable disk image2.gif. Spinrite comes with FREEDOS instaled, but most laptops don't like using it.
Follow directions here on making a bootable image.

after burning your disk boot your system up with the cd. when you get to a prompt , ie C:\\ you will need to change it to your default cd drive mine is E:
after changing the drive letter type SPINRITE
the program will start - follow onscreen directions and change scan level to 5. after program finishes reboot after removing disk.
should run like a new pc with no Loss of information.

Dell inspirion 530 Black sreen at boot up with blinking cursor

HI there.
Hit F12 - enter diagnostics - then run them
It should from memory run a test called 'DST' which stands for disk short test. If this passes OK your disk is 99% ok. If OK then (my guess is you have WinXP) boot the XP install disk and attemp to install Windows. If the installer detects a version of windows already on the disk it will ask you "if you wish to repair the copy already installed"
If it does hit yes - ( you wont lose your data however I hope you have backed up)
After it has finished your done.
Hope this helps you out.....Mark

My IBM thinkpad wont start

first of all we need to know what operating system ur using......

iam presuming ur using XP....

have you tried copying user32.dll back to the c:\Windows\System32 directory from the XP disk, another computer, or parallel install of XP?
If you can get to Safe Mode or Even Safe Mode Command Prompt you may aslo be able to run "sfc /scannow" at the prompt and get Windows to check all of it's system drivers and replace any that are found corrupted.

if ur not able to access through safe mode

if you are making it to the boot menu options you may try "Last Known Good Configuration" or something like that... if you are unable to get that to work either then you best bet is probably to try and run the Recovery Console from the XP CD. If that doesn't work you could try messing around with either booting XP Pre from a boot CD and copying files to wherever you need, or installing a parallel copy of XP, booting to that and copying files to your old copy. You can also try installing over the top of the existing XP but that would be my last effort as it could permanently destroy data you might be trying to keep.

if it still doesnt work
I think you may be looking at a re-install if your system is that messed up.

hope i was able to help

if u felt so... dont forget to rate my service

thank you

have a nice day

You can repair windows without deleting your files. Your files will still be intact. To do this, ff. these steps:
  • Insert your WinXP disc.
  • A message will appear saying "Press any key to boot from cd", you can press Enter key.
  • Windows will start. Wait 'til the Terms of Agreement shows Press F8 to agree.
  • There will be options to install WinXP or to use Recovery Console. In this time choose Install WinXP.
  • It will now search for your previous WinXP installation.
  • This section now let you choose whether to Install a fresh copy of WinXP OR to REPAIR your windows.
  • Choose REPAIR so that your files stored in your harddisk will not be deleted.
  • Wait 'til it finishes the installation.
*Drop a comment when done. Feel free to ask me. I will gladly assist you.

Startup repair won't repair

It sounds like your leaving your Installation Disk in the drive. Take that out and run safe mode, then just plug in your flash drive as normal and it should detect it and you can copy your files to it. If not, use s CD and burn the files you need on them then you can proceed with Wiping the drive. If this fails, Install XP but there is a option to not have the drive formatted thus this keeps all files in tact. Reinstall XP like this, take the files you need and then reformat and reinstall XP and you should be fine. After doing all this, run a virus scan and have it run regularly because it may have been a virus that caused the problem to begin with.

Hope This Helps
