Does having windows vista make it worse or or do nothing at all?

Hi again ive tried that and the smae old message keeps here it is:

RuneScape was unable to connect to the update server. This is most likely caused by a firewall blocking the connection.

    To resolve this:

If you have firewall or security software installed please ensure RuneScape/Java is allowed to open outgoing network connections on port 43594.

Note Windows XP Service Pack 2 has built in firewall software. If when loading RuneScape this asks if you want to allow the connection, you need to say 'yes'.

If that doesn't help then an external firewall may be causing the problem. Please ask your network adminstrator/ISP to open port 43594 for TCP traffic.

If problems persist then please refer to the technical FAQs which can be found in the Customer Support section of our website.

    I dont understand it.

Disable all firewalls, as Norton, Zone alarm etc.
Also disable windows firewall from control panel.

If it still does not work check the router settings. Routers have internal firewall, you may need to add your laptop's ip or mac address to the firewall as trusted one.

An alternative is connecting laptop by wires to the router, probably the router firewall will let it go , as wired connections are set to less resticted security.

Trying to install Farming-Simulator 2013. When it gets to Updating-Install I get an error message that says I need to be connected to the internet. I am connected to the internet.

The program is trying to directly access a website to perform an update. Your antivirus or firewall may be blocking it from doing so, thinking it may be a malware attempt. You can turn off the firewall and AV and try it so verify, or you can go to the AV and firewall and add an exemption for the program so it can get thru to update.

you can go to ubisoft (site) and make a new one, be sure that if you have vista or windows 7, that your firewall don't block it and you run it as administrator. anyway, you don't need to log in, you can skip it, there is a skip button i thought.

Hello.

The problem is about the verification of you account ID. So it doesn't have anything to do with your system setup. Do you already have an account ID there? IF not yet then you need to sign up first. If you already have an account ID, make sure you typed the correct Account ID and password in order to Login into your account.

I hope this helped you.

Warhammer Mark of Chaos-Online Games

Okay, this game is a bit on the older side, so very few people play it anymore. If you can't see games that's probably the primary reason. The only other reason it could be is any firewall settings you might have might not recognize Mark of Chaos packets and therfore not let them in or out of your firewall. Try opening ports or shutting down your firewall when you go to play the game.

There can be particular issues related
to playing through a router or firewall,
including sharing your internet
connection via another PC. In order to
join or host a Conflict: Global Storm
game from behind a firewall you must
open the following ports (inbound and
outbound):

UDP ports 4658, 6500, 10010,
13139, 27900

TCP ports 4658, 6667, 28910,
29900, 29901, 29920

To host a game from behind a router
with NAT (Network Address
Translation), or a firewall, you will
need to enable ‘port forwarding’ on
the following ports to route data to the
IP address of your PC;

UDP ports 4658, 6500

TCP port 4658

If you continue to have problems
connecting to servers or creating
them, try bypassing your router or
firewall by connecting your PC directly
to your broadband connection.

If possible make sure you or your friends are not behind NAT or firewall. It is much easier to connect if you have all public IPs and not something starting with 192.168...

Do not use ALT+TAB and do not enter Windows when multiplayer is running. It will kill the connection to GameSpy servers that are needed even when you are creating server to your own computer.

Sometimes in the lobby the server just dies quietly and you need to the restart the whole game. You will notice this when players just stop coming to your server. This usually happens because you switched to Windows even for one second and sometimes it just happens without any reason.

Won't let civ 4 play

Did you download it illegally? Regardless, Norton sucks and you need to get rid of it. Most likely The firewall in Norton is blocking access from the program on your computer. Open Norton and Find the Firewall settings (i havent used norton in many years so i forgot where it is; Possibly udner configure or settings or something). Allow access to the program through the firewall and if you bought it then allow full internet access to it as well. Hope that helps :)
