Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

WHen I try to print, I get a "problem communicating with the printer" message. I've run the troubleshooter, to no avail. When the print screen pops up, it says "printing;off-line." However, when I go into printer properties, it does not show that it's offline.

Thanks for the posting in FixYa.

Is it attached to your PC in Network through LAN Cable?

Does any flag shown in the Device Manager list?

Try this -->

Go to Start -->Printers and Faxes..

Now, right click on your Printer icon and select "Properties".

Click on the "Port" tab along the top..

What port does it say you are using??

Try after unplug and replug the cables.

You can access the User's Guide from your computer. Just click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > View User's Guide.

If your printer keeps on printing the same document, there might be a lot of print jobs in your queue. You might have sent the same print jobs when you were getting the communication error. Just click on Start > Printers and Faxes > Double click on the Lexmark icon and clear the print jobs in the queue.

My Lexmark Platinum PRO905 does ot print it gives me the message " Communication Not Available, The Printer cannot communicate with the computer"


A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if usb-connected), reboot your computer and unplug/replug your printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect the printer into the computer. Try to print again.

When i try to print something a window pops up that says "communication not available" ive tried restarting, unpluging the power cord and the usb cord...nothing seems to work

It could be just a minor communication issue. Try to unplug your printer from your computer. Unplug and replug your printer into the power source to reset itself. My computer is'nt comunication with the printer


It could be just a slight communication issue. Try to unplug your printer from your computer. Then unplug the printer from the power source. Replug after 10 seconds. No matter how many times I try to print something (& having gone through troubleshooting unsuccessfully) I get the message: - "The Dell AI0 Printer 924 is currently busy. Your print request will...


Uninstall the printer from the Device Manager. Dis-connect the printer from the computer. Reboot the computer. Re-connect the printer to the computer. Allow your computer to detect its' connection from Windows. If it is successful - it will indicate it is ready for use. If not, then there is a problem with the printer. Try another printer, if available, and see if that works - if it does, then it's the printer that's bad, not the computer.
